You're right in that some people are lost causes. But if in dealing with 100 lost causes, I can get that one person to open their eyes a little, then it's worth it. Quoting: Green Witch Stated differently, you’re willing to waste 99% of your time and energy on those not actually seeking to learn. Why not invest 99% of your time and energy on the 1 out of 100 that’s actually seeking to learn? If I treated it any differently I'd be as bad as them.
