There is a place in East Texas that I plan on visiting soon called rcb gardens. From what I was told it's one of the best plant and rock shops in Texas

Plant and rock?

You know... thinking of it, I'm surprised "rock" shops selling greenery is not something I've seen before.

Brilliant idea really

Talk dirty to me, baby! I want to hear you say, “soil erosion” in a sultry, sexy voice!

“Mental slavery is the worst form of slavery.
It gives you the illusion of freedom,
makes you trust, love, and defend your oppressor,
while making an enemy of those
who are trying to free you or open your eyes.”

“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.”
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“You have been programmed to resist the very person that is here to set you free, from the prison of your Mind... You are not free... everything you are has been manufactured by Minds that have not your best interest. You are imprisoned by beliefs and not reality. Religions are mental programs to imprison your Mind.”

Re: The Witch's Corner
General question for whomever wants to answer. What is everyone's thoughts on alistar crowley? I'm not a fan. I think he preformed a lot of spirit abuse. Same reason I dont like solomonic or abrahamic magick. I think its extremely disrespectful and abusive. I do however think he had some really good insights. I just think he went haywire later on and got power crazed and let his lusts ruin him. Among other things. He did some messed up shite. Imo. What do you all think?

And I'll admit up front I'm not very deducted on him. I've only read a little bit of his stuff and then found out what he was like behind the masquerade and was totally put off from reading more of his works. So I'm biased.

He was a master manipulator (of many things) with the deepest sarcastic wit ever seen at the time. All of that catches up to a fella eventually, if one doesn't listen to their syncs, especially.

For all he brought, for better and worse, the man, and those later inspired by him, altered the consensus timeline in realtime as they lived and long after.

Most of us should light a candle occasionally in remembrance at least for a lesson learned.

I never studied Crowley in depth. My family tradition and style of practice predates Crowley and the men he influenced like Gerald Gardner and Israel Regardie etc. These guys were all about ceremonial magick or high magick. Ceremony was everything to these guys.

I am not a fan of Crowley or guys like him. He was a brilliant man when it came to selling himself and his ideas.

He intentionally pushed the idea of himself being called the antichrist and "the most wicked man on earth"

But his practices were dubious. Like Gardner who came later, Crowley just invented a lot of stuff and mixed it with ceremonial traditions, middle eastern magick and other ancient sources.

With Crowley you get a unique system of practice which is half Abrahamic magick and half ceremonial Mish mash.

My problem with Crowley type practice is that the goal is to summon and command forces to do your bidding. Whereas in a practice such as my own, you work with those forces. They guide you and help you. You don't bind and command them.

Crowley sought power to the exclusion of everything else and his system commanded spirit forces to do his will.

That is something you never, ever want to attempt.

I really appreciate his take on the kabala and the likes. I think they are useful. And he lead the way for Chaos magick and psychonautics which is extremely beneficial when applied properly. I'm into all of chaos magick. I like the sigils and lack of high order. I didnt like the darker stuff. Definitely not my path any longer. I appreciate the freewill aspects of the left hand path. But I feel it lends itself strongly to those seeking power and revenge mainly due to the lack of balance. Especially when delving into the darker schoolings.

But I agree that the effect of consciousness was palpable and opened up avenues for people of all classes to learn some of the more secretive information of different magick practices. I like accletic stuff.

That is an excellent synopsis of his stuff
I agree 100% I dont know about the others. I know anton Levay was heavily influenced by him...and I don't like him either. Most of the people who practice that path appear to me to be seeking instant gratification and power over others at the risk of stagnation and insanity.

I grew up Roman catholic. But my bloodlines go pagan way back. And the call to be able to integrate spirit in with my programmed beliefs is heavy. I prefer the style you talk about. It is natural and a give take respect deal. Thank you for sharing!

I was under the impression that chaos magick was a new thing? Again forgive me for my ignorance. I've been learning for only a few years. And it has been sporadic and nothing set on one particular path. Im Much like a spaztic squirrel that way. When did chaos magick originate and i suppose sigils are as old as enoch?
And yes your right about there being too many pissed of djinn already. As if the spirits aren't hated and loathed and misunderstood enough already...people have to start pissing off the djinn and fairies now as well.

Re: The Witch's Corner

He was a master manipulator (of many things) with the deepest sarcastic wit ever seen at the time. All of that catches up to a fella eventually, if one doesn't listen to their syncs, especially.

For all he brought, for better and worse, the man, and those later inspired by him, altered the consensus timeline in realtime as they lived and long after.

Most of us should light a candle occasionally in remembrance at least for a lesson learned.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom! hf

Might just be my take on "chaos" and it's varying practices... sure their has been many who practice various paths, tried different methods, put something together themselves... went that backfired and start from scratch

Entering altered states thru substance, trance, fasting or a long list for the psychonautics.

Sometimes that's the way to study. Go where your heart and interest take you, hacking your own way thru bits of the wilderness before coming along another path for a time.

The modern system of chaos magic really got going in the 70s with Osman Spare and Peter Carrol with Liber Null but the actual roots go back into antiquity

Re: The Witch's Corner
I agree with you about the generalized Gardnerized 'wicca' movement that grew in Crowly's wake. Sometimes I imagine all of that as a sort of inside practical joke.

I also agree with you on the concepts of 'power' and 'control' over elements that most of us haven't the remotest clue just how primordial they are.

We're blessed now with the gift of learned hindsight.

Think of the set and setting he existed in at that time and what he had to work with that was readily available to him.

Yes, some of us have had the blessings of deeper genetic ties to the underpinnings of what was far later bastardized into the publicized Abrahamic system of corrupted western thought for the masses - but he wasn't - and still warped the timeline, for better and worse, for a century after, and by the force of his Will alone, as fucked as it was.

He brought the 'greys' in, for one example.

damned

Lessons ready to learn brought by those who dared before us I say.

WE have so much more at our fingertips now, including the gifts of hindsight.

There's lots of werk to do, I imagine.
