The roots of all systems and all religions are the same.
All magick is chaos magick until placed in to a system where it becomes more ceremonial or ritualistic.
Just as everything is a theory before it is tested, reproduced and accepted. In some cases even an entirely new type science is born.

Even the oldest of traditions started with someone trying something, even the oldest of religions were 'invented'.

Note; when I say 'chaos magick' here I mean the original theory of using what works opposed to strict ceremonial and by the book magick systems.
In our modern era due to people 'systemizing' chaos magick, it might be better if I referred to it as chaotic magick. Despite the word chaos 'using what works' doesn't necessarily mean the energies of chaos (opposed to order), but does mean chaotic methods opposed to ordered methods.

I could actually write down my little bag of tricks in to a fairly well defined system nowadays. It is always evolving and thus leans toward a chaotic implementation, but there is, I guess... a chaotic order to it.
