Anonymous Coward User ID: 78699487 United States 10/08/2021 10:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was very fortunate. I was born into a tradition that had already been established by centuries so I had a firm background from which to begin. Many aren't so lucky. And learning anything on your own is much more difficult. Don't fret over your past choices or mistakes. They are what they are. Opportunities to learn from and grow. You make a mistake or a bad choice, acknowledge it and move on. As for the goetia, Abramelin and things such as the Solomonic seals, 72 Names, it all has to do with ceremony and commanding forces. It can lead you into some very dangerous places if you dont know exactly what you are doing. Shadow work, bringing yourself into balance, acknowledging duality and integrating is about one of the best things you can do. I'd say at higher levels it's a necessity. My advice, would be to seek out books and people on a traditional path and read books on traditional craft. Read, and let your gut guide you as to what you integrate into your practice. After a while, you'll know what works for you and what doesn't I have a set of books that I usually recommend for people such as yourself if you are interested :) And don't fall into the trap of thinking your practice has to be this way or that way. Don't box yourself in. The Craft is unique to each person. I would greatly like to learn about the set of books you reccomend! Thank you!!! And yeah shadow work is what I've been working on for a while...still working on it. I'm pretty sure it will be a process for me lol but I'm ok with that. My shadow has a lot to teach me. And you are right. It's a black and white paradigm I need to continue to work on dismantling and just allow my practice to grow and flow with me. Not be so rigid with it. And that is amazing about your learning and lineage. So much rich culture. That is truly a blessing. Thank you green witch. I truly appreciate you. |

Veneficus Vita User ID: 80724039 Australia 10/08/2021 11:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not sure boring is ever the word to use I'm never bored. Too many options to be bored! Speaking of, I'm pondering posting my rune cards as a conversation starter. Each has a brief rundown of what they symbolically represent, divinatory meaning and energetic association. A new thread could seem more appropriate, but this thread has slowly been gathering the type of folks to have interesting chats about this stuff - so perhaps the best choice. I think so at least. Maybe a daily post, making 24 days of, 25 when including the "?", which is quite different to simply "the unknown" which is represented itself in a rune. Anyway, there's that. Coz reasons, probably. Currently there's 1 full series (4x 25 card sets), 1 half series (2x 25). Each series has a theme and set a sub theme. I'll mix up which set I use for each post. Coz reasons, probably. And that is amazing about your learning and lineage. So much rich culture. That is truly a blessing. Thank you green witch. I truly appreciate you. For beginner books I'd recommend 1. Psychic Witch by Matt Auryn You will love this book. It's a beginner book but a little bit more advanced 2. Besom, stang and sword. This is a great book on traditional craft. This book very closely resembles my own tradition. 3. Weave the liminal by Laura Zakroff. This is the book I wish I had when I was starting out. 3. The crooked path by Kelden. Another good book on Traditional Craft. 4. A Cornish book of ways by Gemma Gary. This is an older book on tradition English folk practices. 5. The modern guide to Witchcraft by Skye Alexander. This is a book that gives good info but doesn't deep dive into any one path. 6. Magic power for beginners by Deborah lipp. This book will explain a lot of stuff that most Witch books don't. And even though Deborah is Wiccan, she doesn't push wicca on you Last Edited by Green Witch on 10/09/2021 10:18 AM “Secure the shadow, ere the substance fades.” |
