I Saw my First Firefly Last Night. Seems Like a Lot Less Insects Each Year. I Haven't Seen One Ear Wig, Grasshopper or Cricket Yet.

When I'm gardening I still see some wasps and bees, daddy long legs, lots of pill bugs, some assorted spiders but it seems like less of them. Flies and mosquitoes are around but I've also noticed a decline in the mosquitoes too. That one I'm fine with.

I've seen two new insects this year. No ladybugs but one of the new ones looks like a solid red ladybug that's a little less round.

The other new bug looks like a black spot camouflaged on a leaf.

4 billion birds have disappeared from the skies over North America. Please feed the birds.

Probably because the insects are going.

No cicadas either. Maybe my town is so boring even the insects are leaving?

They were all harvested to make hot dogs, they mix well with human meat for that crunchy just off the grill texture.

Trees are dying all around too. Lots of squirrels though.

I think it’s either cell phone waves or pesticides

I grew up not too far from where I am now. We would see grasshoppers and crickets all the time. I know they're still out there but I don't see them at all anymore.

In South NJ there is a dearth of insects and this is a swamp. No mosquitoes, crickets, frogs etc.....creepy.

Come to Ontario OP...the Gypsy Moth caterpillars are stripping everything in their wake...gonna be a bumper crop of moths this year and no mistake.

Upstate NY. I have a woodchuck this year though.

Moths here are much less too.
