From one though, the Scarecrow is meant to do what even you might be able to figure out- scare crows.

And a crucified Jesus is meant to do the same thing, and you are the crow.

While in certain ways the dynamics are different, the message is clear. If you don't want to end up like this, don't be like this guy.

It's a form of deterrent to a type of behavior as the scarecrow is.
