Rusting or not has nothing to do with the quality of the knife but the steel used, high carbon vs stainless steel. High quality, high carbon knives will rust, you have to coat them in an oil or wax.

Cheap SS saucepan from WM started stinking as soon as I soaked it. I threw it away because it tainted the flavor of the food I cooked in it. Fake SS also seems to weigh less than real SS. The weight difference is definitely noticeable with the knives.

I'm careful and proficient in the kitchen and sliced my finger on a mandoline, luckily it was minor. Everyone I know has had at least one mandoline mishap.
