There won't be much difficulty to locate the "flight" recorders in this case. The plane did not fly but all data will be in the recorders.

Curious to know what the investigators will find. F-16 don't come cheap. This is tax payers money.

Good pics in that article. I don't think it was a "runaway" engine, probably just a translation issue. Though it is possible for jet engines to runaway it was usually the was older or small homemade types that did that. Also if he had a runaway engine he would have plenty of power to lift and take off.

The damage didn't appear like a complete loss, but you can't see the front nose and the front of the wings. But from the back of the cockpit back appears undamaged. The engine definitely appears reusable.

Pilot was super lucky considering he had to eject at ground level. The parachute was draped over a fence, he's lucky he didn't land right on it
