I expect big EQ on cascade subduction zone
There have been no quakes in the Cascade subduction zone. Juan de Fuca has not move so pressure is building. Many small EQ's means the plate is subducting has not reached a snag. When the EQ's stop is the time to expect something big building.

Re: I expect big EQ on cascade subduction zone
Many EQ's yet none at the Juan de Fuca and North American Plate boundary. The North American Plate is pushing Northwest but is stuck. My theory is that the swarm in the Sierras is crumpling from the N.A. plate being stuck. Once this snag comes lose there will be a big EQ on the Cascadia subduction zone (this is where the Juan de Fuca Plate is being subducted under the North American Plate. when the blockage breaks the N.A. Plate is going to move meters (not the usually cm's) over the Juan de Fuca pushing it down. that is alot of energy that is going to be released.

I can't pinpoint exact location where the epicenter will be but I would not want to live in B.C.

Re: I expect big EQ on cascade subduction zone
Subduction of 10 km thick slabs of sea floor into an even more dense layer seems ridiculous to me.

Much more feasible is the curvature of the continental crust relaxing and spreading over the top of the sea floor, after some earth expansion.
