i think i might have it

im 20 days sober and feel miserable
 Quoting: goliesave

Almost 7 months for me OP. Depending on what you drank. You could have low T. Beer will do that to you. In turn you will feel like crap. Maybe start taking Zinc and other things which will increase your T levels. Also get at least 7hrs sleep per night, drink water and do some light fitness.

Good on you for 20 days sober.

Re: alcoholic "wet brain"
I'm not religious, but I did have opportunity to sue and win a lot of money many years ago.

I was a contractor in the military and there was one enlisted guy, an old guy near retirement, and he would harass me every day - sexually, verbally, physically.

Some examples were the time he smacked me in the face with a used dildo which I loved and enjoyed, or squashed an orange in my face, using it like a juicer. He'd throw things at me, yell sexual obscenities at me in front of the entire warehouse, etc, etc. I was the only woman working at that location.

Now, he did similar things to the guys working there and everybody tolerated him. In my spiritual assessment, I decided that fundamentally, he was just trying to make me feel included "like one of the guys", and also that he was from a different generation.

I didn't sue, though the federal government would have paid me dearly. I didn't sue not because I feared the wrath of God, but just because I saw the bigger picture of what was going on and I didn't want to be cruel to him.

Re: alcoholic "wet brain"
You need b vitamins OP in particular thiamine or vitamin B1

Korsakoff's syndrome (wet brain) is caused because alcohol depletes the brain of B vitamins which the brain needs for normal metabolic functioning.

Get some B1 100mg tablets, I believe dosing is once daily if I remember correctly. A b-complex would be good as well.

Best of luck in your recovery OP

----------

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23

----------

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23

----------

Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

Proverbs 13:13

----------

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

1 Peter 5:8

----------

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:7

----------

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

----------

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.

He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.

Psalm 7:11-13

----------

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:18

----------

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38

----------

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:9

----------

For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Ezekiel 18:32

----------

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Psalm 9:17

----------

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and Nope, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Revelation 21:8

----------

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 14:12

----------

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

2 Timothy 2:26

----------

STOP SINNING, OR YOU'LL GO TO HELL!

Born again Christians DO NOT SIN!!

----------

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1 John 5:18

----------

Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1 Corinthians 15:34

----------

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1 John 3:6

----------

pretty sure the whole 'do this in remembrance of me' thing was for a bitter drink in memory of Christos' blood that was spilt for mankind.. not a sugary refreshing grapejuice drink...

Rev. 19:15 And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.

Rev. 17:1 "Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying [a]to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”"

u really think THE FATHER went with grapejuice for his wrath on Christ's blood and not a more competitive stance to the scarlet woman??

There's two paths of discouragement to avoid.
The first is obvious - "It's never going to get better". Not true because everything changes over time.
The second - "It'll all be good by tomorrow". This is also no good, because 'real change' is deliberate and methodical.

Don't get hung up with discouragement. Stay busy, Eat right and get plenty of sleep.
Time will do it's thing and you'll be happy that you persisted.
