The real issue is noise pollution.

And there is a reason there are noise laws in the US.
We wouldn't want Islamic mosques blaring Call to Prayer at 5 a.m. and throughout the day.

Karen was using her noise pollution against the noise. She should have used an airhorn.

Difference being fireworks occur only twice a year, on nationally-recognized holidays. And not at 5am.

Karen’s actions are fully justified from a legal perspective. But from a social perspective, she’s doing herself no favors.

While I agree she went way overboard w the drama, just looking at her makes me think she is touched in the head in some way.

She could be mentally retarded or have another brain dysfunction that makes her extremely sensitive to loud noises. I'm gonna stay away from saying she might be a veteran w ptsd. No way in hell she served.

We really should try to remember that there ARE people and animals who cannot take the booms fireworks make, due to certain illnesses (mental). It's not the lights, it's the sounds. I'm sure many think they are nice to look at; they just can't have them going off right over their heads. It's not cool to antagonize mentally unstable folks.

That is why each town holds a professional display, so locals don't put themselves or others in danger.

I don't normally care for people like this woman, but I also don't think it's right to laugh at her condition or others who suffer from the same. It's sad that she went nuts, but its even worse that these people kept setting off more fireworks and pushing her to insanity.

Why are people triggered so easily these days. There is something going on out there making people batshit crazy. She's gotta be, what, 40s (it's difficult to tell in that video). So what did she do during the 4th the last 40 years?

I have two dogs who are afraid of fireworks too. I tell them to harden the f up - same as I would say to you.

There were constant fireworks in my next door neighbor's backyard last night. My female cat slept throughout the whole thing. One of my male cats seemed curious but mostly was laying down. And my other male cat was hiding in the closet. The one hiding in the closet got over it within a couple of minutes of the noise ending. He's none the worse for wear. Cats are very resilient. If they were extremely upset I would attempt to comfort them and I would feel bad for them but I wouldn't do anything about it. It's once a year.

There was a danger of that, but as far as I know, no actual fires. The people setting them off did damage the paint jobs of their own cars.

I once witnessed a crazy 4th celebration in a Santa Cruz Ca neighborhood. It was spectacular. Everyone had those big boxes that once lit launches for about 2 to 3 minutes lined in the middle of the street. There were some bottle rockets being launched as well. This angry Karen came out and started yelling just like this lady and one of the guys went over to talk to her and as she yelled at him a misfired bottle rocket coincidentally buzzed her head and she then completely lost it and called the cops. Funny thing is the cops came and did absolutely nothing since all the fireworks were already set off.

Why is it always the women who lose their minds over fireworks.

I would not complain if the mosques only did it once a day but it is 4x a day every day. July 4 is only once a year last time I checked.

I too am sick of all the personal fireworks in cities and suburban areas with houses close to each other

1. they are a major fire hazard, houses are burned down every year because of that shit

there should be no other reason other than that

2. ptsd soldiers. Our soldiers deserve respect. People should respect their ptsd. Last night every neighborhood I was in was like a war zone with the homes even shaking from how close all the blasts were

3. Animals. The nonstop explosions cause a tremendous stress to animals and its not right


IF youre going to do fireworks, do it at a reasonable hour, like right when it gets dark, not a couple here and there ALL NIGHT LONG until the sun comes up.

have the official fireworks, theres nothing wrong with them, they are localized and at a set time.

People can deal with it at a set time, or at a limited time. Whats been happening in the cities the past several years now is insane and extremely dangerous to our communities \

IF they were going off directly in front of my house like that and it was distressing my loved one to that point, there would be violence if they did not stop and go elsewhere

this video clearly looks like she asked them to stop and they continued to specifically do it directly in front of her home to harass her

people wouldve gone to the hospital and morgue were that my house and loved one

OK that is way over the top. Crazy. We live among many chinese people who love their fireworks and we have 3 dogs and 2 cats. We keep them inside the house on july 4th night. Problem solved. They jump in our laps for comfort and we lightly scratch their chests while watching a movie and no problem.

I made a thread a while back about why animals are so resilient to stress unlike people and why there’s such a rise in mental illness.
