Look at the title, “Am I The Only One”

It’s asking a rather forlorn question, creating doubt that there are others who feel the same way. It’s designed to induce doubt and negativity, if only at a subconscious level.

A positive title and lyric would have been “I’m Not The Only One”, which would have worked just as well. However, that would be a positive, strengthening message, and the people who run the music industry (the same ones who run the banks and everything else) certainly don’t want that.
