If the tests are underwater, they are probably testing a method of sinking ships by causing a large cavity in the water that the ships can fall into.
This can be done by sending down a high pressure container (very large) of liquefied gas that they release, which would cause an air pocket the ship falls into. Normally with nukes the shock wave would be bigger for the same effect.

Just stop folks as you are making the CT community in general look like complete fools. This speculation on something we know is just stupid and I am embarrassed by some of the pontification of people that can't comprehend how an election was lost to how shock waves work
