I don't know what the SEC can do but I watched most of this David Schwartz speech from 2 years ago about proof of work and he did answer a question I had about Ethereum and ETH transaction fees.

Now is a good time to refresh knowledge base of how we got to this point. thanks for the reminder. I wonder how much they have learned from "us" as we have of them...

The next case will not come from the SEC....it appears there are white hats in the USG. There is a rift. Think big, real big. Antitrust lawsuit, DOJ. I don't know who...yet? But I did hear a name dropped by an asst US attorney....Susan Athey...consulting expert(?)

I agree we're only seeing the surface but there seem to be huge shifts in the narratives happening everywhere not just in crypto.

All I know is this market crash isn't really bumming me out because I feel like we've been waiting for it for so long and we've been told it needs to happen first.

I guess I buy that "phoenix from the ashes stuff", XRP for sure but the whole financial system - the legacy financial system has been on life support since 2008 and probably long before that.

If they don't do a controlled demolition then the way it unwinds would be really dangerous. They'll take it down their way and put the new system in.

A lot of people think the new system is going to be total control, social credit system, dystopian, it is a possibility but I have a feeling they aren't going to get what they want.

The new narrative is "everything is falling apart, all the systems are imploding" people are losing faith in what used to be authorities on a pedestal.

Especially young people, are they going to stay docile forever? How can they believe one scrap of the trash they're being force fed.

I know you see it W! I love your optimism. There is much reason to for it. Eth, maybe Tether, Ethereum fan boys seem to believe the SEC will target Eth Foundation next. I don't even think they have jurisdiction. But anyi-trust is another matter.

system is dying it's apparent they want to flip to digital

2019: 4x8 foot sheet of plywood is $17
2021/2022: $100

rent: 800
now: 1700

groceries have gone up, gas is almost 2 dollars a litre (7.6 dollars a gallon for our American friends) & you can't buy a house unless you have 1 million dollars!

yes you've got that right! That is why they run up the debts, print trillions & do not seem to care at all one bit! Making themselves richer, then crash the system and put in the new one

so xRP may not be the 'reserve currency' but an incredibly fast, almost free settlement system is needed for global transactions

Someone was asking for youtubers we still follow and after the big names that we all know and love, I have been picking up some new-to-me guys and in that category I am liking

Noaty Crypto

He did something interesting recently is he shifted his holdings so he was holding an equal dollar value of XRP and XLM. I never heard anyone think of it that way, we always think in terms of numbers of tokens. He went into detail why he did that, it was just food for thought, I didn't do it, I have almost twice as much XRP as I do XLM.

Have zero fiat that isn't absolutely necessary to live on and so I do not think I should throw any at crypto even symbolically to say I did.

Anyway Noaty Crypto brand new as an example of a guy to maybe follow [link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

Hey just re-reading what I wrote since you made it a standalone quote, it reminded me of advice I got when we were winding down our business, part of a list of tips for liquidating, they said:

"The business should be run, until the very last minute, as though it will be in business forever."

We did take that advice and used it to advantage (continued to buy in merchandise to sell in our "going out of business sale").

Anyway not to ramble but the financial systems are being run that way - keeping up appearances, not panicking the population, and milking every last dime they can out of the situation until they can't any more.

If the exchanges de-listed XRP, they could de-list ETH couldn't they? They could de-list BTC?

Could they say they're de-listing Proof of Work tokens to save the world because climate change?

It sounds so weak and lame but I suppose they could if they wanted to.

Foreign exchanges could be strong-armed I suppose? Blackmailed over Tether?

And what the hell is going to happen with Tether, isn't that the biggest ticking bomb in the space?

The whole market took a dump. Looking at the charts a lot of coins followed the same pattern...

Some have had a slight turn around though as of now.

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

I was wondering if the price or value of ETH was set really low, then the fees wouldn't matter. But then no one would have incentive to mine (be validators on the blockchain.)

He explained a lot about that and about how validators provide security on the blockchain.

The whole situation with ETH, Tether and Bitcoin seems really screwed up. I wish I didn't have any ERC20 tokens as I feel like they are held hostage by the fees and this is not helping my situation. But apparently the network fees don't affect the actual use case utility for most of the ERC20 tokens? I don't even know the answer to that, I don't know much.
 Quoting: Vision Thing

I do not believe in ETH. These are just grains of salt.

ETH 2.0 is on the horizon. ( ~ June 2022 )

PoW > PoS

Original recipe Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens will be integrated into the new system with ease. Nothing required on behalf of users.

Flare better pull their finger out before they become obsolete. Nothing wrong with a little competition though.

However, Flare is using the EVM... (Ethereum Virtual Machine)
