Hey Samguy how's it going, have you run into any hitches?

Ask if you have any questions, once you get underway!

Post a progress report when you can.
 Quoting: Vision Thing

Ok, one concern. oh man...

If I want to wait for a certain price to buy, by the time I buy, transfer the XLM and then swap to XRP when the then current rate for XRP has shot back up I could lose out?

At least on Uphold with direct buy of XRP it is locked in.

It's just small percentages, you're not gonna lose or gain anything substantial in the few seconds it takes to send and swap. Can't waste your time going around waiting for the perfect swap rate, it's just pennies.

Samguy, in the future when you say you bought XRP for under a dollar, people's eyes will bug out, and you will look back on worrying about pennies, nickels, or dimes in the price as having been very inconsequential.

Buy XRP any way you can, not financial advice, and also, don't worry about mean trolls on here, GLP is full of them.

You had said you wanted to buy XRP, your timing is good, this IS the dip, Buy the Dip if that's what you're doing, and don't try to time the bottom, that's how people get wrecked, and if it happens that you buy XRP or any other asset that you believe in, and the price goes down after you buy it, don't give it a second thought, just be glad you have what you have!

Not financial advice!

But things were supposed to change overnight at the flip of a switch "imminently" for the entire 2 years I've been in crypto - it IS going to happen, and when it does "The Train Has Left The Station" will be the word of the day.

Catch your train, however you can, if that's what you want to do, and don't make things more difficult than they need to be.

PLease read through that whole page I made and watch all three videos, after that you can go find other sources of information and other video guys to give you advice, but that is a very nice oversimplified package to give you a rare start that very few people get, Samguy!

And don't overlook anything like sending small quantities, it is super easy to make mistakes with crypto! Make them cheap mistakes, not expensive mistakes!

Just try it now! Buy some XLM, send it to Atomic, swap it to XRP with the built in swap feature of the wallet!

Just do some, 50 dollars worth or 100 dollars worth, just try it and see how it works!

You have a learning curve just executing it.

And don't forget the FAQs within the wallet and within your exchange, Kraken or whatever.

And be DAMN careful who you get advice from outside of your own wallet internal support or your own exchange internal support.

GLP is not as bad as some platforms but most places are filled with phishing bots and you can make a mistake without thinking in the blink of an eye.

And I just heard of someone losing a lot of crypto because they didn't look at the address when they typed a misspelling into the search bar, went to a fake site, logged in and gave their login info to scammers without even realizing it.

Pay attention in everything you do with crypto!

Make yourself a nice work area where you have everything you need, you can be comfortable and you can concentrate and focus.

THIS!

Trust me, I've been stacking for 4 years now, always expecting the switch to be flipped any day now. It's excruciatingly painful to sit and wait, but I know what I have, and I haven't sold a single thing, not even for taking profit. I'll get my profit one day, I know it.

I also have never cashed out to fiat in over 2 years of holding.

I did have some assets from my original portfolio that I bought on advice from Crazy4Cryptos, things he said were good, even though all I really wanted was XRP, but what happened was most of the stuff he said was good, did go up in price, and when it did, I swapped it into XRP and XLM.

So I was very fortunate the way things worked out, and my willingness to participate that way and come out better than I would have if I had only been buying in, with my absurd financial situation on its own.

I will have to cash some crypto in SOON though - things are definitely getting precarious here. It's not good. I need some kind of mini-moon money ASAP, where I could cash out a small amount of crypto and sit tight and continue to live paying only rent, bills and food for a while longer.

I know things will work out, one way or the other, they always do, that's one benefit of being older. Of course this could be the exception that proves the rule, hahahahahahahahaha.

I used to check my portfolio on coingecko often, with pride and satisfaction, and I would look for opportunities to deploy value from an asset that increased, into one that hadn't.

It's not working quite that way now LOL so I stay away :)

Hey guys... I'm a lurker on this thread... Has something changed in the way you reply to someone's post? It's been a while since I have posted a comment but I thought I remembers having a little yellow icon up to the right that said reply... now I just see 2 that have to do with quoting someone.

The only way to reply to this thread seems to be at the top of the header where you post a new thread.

Am I missing something?

What's your thoughts on XLM?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80959155

I always wish I had more XLM.

It's so useful! If I have to send value from one platform to another, I almost always convert to XLM first to send, because it sends so instantly and cheaply and dependably.

It's such a pleasure to use that a person has to be careful not to trade it all away.

I have a bag that's a little over 1/2 of my XRP holdings.

It's maintained that ratio for a long time. I had more briefly, but swapped a bunch for Reaper RPR, my favorite project after XRP/XLM. Reaper is actually my second largest holding now.

Anyway when I started in crypto I was told XRP & XLM

And nothing that's happened since has made me think that's a bad idea.

If a person got into crypto and those were the only 2 projects they held, they could do much worse.

Not financial advice

Thanks Abe and everyone that responded, really made my day. Had read at work but unable to login to my account there.

I do have as much as I hoped to have. I have a small, less than 5k IRA that had been my 401k that I am waiting on the check for. Finishing up divorce in a 30 yr marriage, she had spent us into ultra ultra CC debt and kept it hidden for many years until I discovered it. I cashed in my 401k at that time to pay off one of the cards.

So, with this money coming I am going to stuff my bag as much as possible and trying to get my ducks in a row in anticipation of this last buy. I do expect (hopium) a new low, and I hear what you all are saying. You're right, I will buy the current low when I can with a fair amount of what I have. I was referring to a crash like the .30+ low, was wondering if a situation like that would be so short lived that it would be difficult to buy, send, convert while the getting is good.

Vision Thing, thank you for thinking of me, it was a nice thing to do. hfEspecially after you really have spelled it all out already in your help page.

Black Ghost, ac, nemo, and pool. All you guys are so thoughtful and I appreciate all the replies. T-Man, you're frickin hilarious! tounge

P.S. Hope it is as low as it is now when I do receive the money!

Governments will have their own CBDC's which will be interoperable with XRP as the Neutral Intermediary.

They cant pick one country to have their money as the reserve asset anymore because they want to build a level playing field for the world.

Nobody is becoming a billionaire unless they put loads of money into XRP. Most people dont even have 10k XRP If you had 10k XRP you would be in the top 4% of holders.
