Re: The XRP Investor Thread
...

Did you use an exchange for the airdrop or Metamask/XUMM? Or something else?
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

I used BitTrue once to get an airdrop for TRX.

I'm thinking any coin that can be delegated to the Flare network and "leased" for more coin in return is equivalent to getting stocks that pay dividends.
1dunno1
 Quoting: AxX

Right on. Were you part of the Flare Snapshot?

I do agree with the latter. I'm very much looking forward to that point where we get "crypto dividends".
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

I believe so.

Unfortunately, my stack was in Coinbase during the snapshot, so... yes? I was?

But my share all went to Coinbase (along with everyone else that held on Coinbase) and they seem to be taking their own sweet ass time dividing it up and dispersing it into everyone's wallets.

I suspect that when XRP is relisted with Coinbase, the Flare airdrop should be coming shortly after, but I don't know about that at all and is purely speculation on my part.
 Quoting: AxX

So I was on CB as well at the time. If you were there on 12/12/20 then you are for sure part of the Flare airdrop. Coinbase has not said anything to date in regards to Songbird but I believe we are going to get that too.

CB is not taking their time because Flare hasn't gone live yet. This is speculative on my part but I feel it's because they don't want to drop during the lawsuit and are stalling. It's like if your kid is born on the same as someone's death. You don't want their birth to be associate with death and you would circumvent it if possible. My guess is this is what Flare is doing.

Xrp is the discussion here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76019717

As I said in the beginning I don't care what your position is on the past but I want nothing to do with it. Please take that talk out of this thread as I want to keep this thread for the long term.

XRP is the focal point but quite frankly, I don't care what gets talked about here so long as it's not that. It's the only topic to not be discussed.

TIA to all.

"If this version of the bill were to pass, crypto holders will have to wait 30 days before (and after) buying the same coin he/she sold at a loss. If you buy the same coin without waiting for 30 days, the IRS would not allow you to deduct the loss as a capital loss in the tax year. That said, note that the taxpayer will not completely lose the tax benefit of the loss. It will be deferred. The loss would be added to the basis of the coin. So, when you later dispose of the coin, it will result in lower capital gains," Cointracker's Shehan Chandrasekera told The Block in an email.

Andrew Lokenauth, VP, at Amalgamated Bank, touted Ripple XRP as the replacement for SWIFT. Connect crypto to the legacy fiat system. He sees Ripple going public and XRP as the standard for bank use.

On the same day his bank touts support of reparations for black Americans.

I always thought the XLM escrow would be used as remuneration minorities and 3rd world nations. Jed took it off the table. Look out it could be XRP or other crypto or ODL to achieve their massive social redistribution scheme.

How are you feeling about LINK these days? Same as ever? I'm so tempted to swap a lot of what I have for XLM and XDC. Haven't done it yet though, too distracted and I don't like to do moves like that unless I can dedicate a lot of time to thinking it through thoroughly.

Maybe I should flip it into XRP . . . . or, just hang onto it, it's done me very well, what I have now is "house money" I flipped the original investment amount into XRP a year or so ago.

Sorry this is my current obsession, just thinking out loud on the board rose

I'm not sold on Bitboys September settlement timeline but he could be right. You brought up XLM, is that a gut feeling or because it's under 50% from its local high?

As for LINK and QNT they are good holds during bear markets, especially if you don't want to leave the market. Peace.

The CB transaction information while switching payment types on the CB Card, normally reads, "2.49% is your transaction fee" It now reads, 'Transaction fees apply and we will help you with your taxes.' paraphrase

So, are the transaction fees going up or down?
Every sell I've made has been when there was a loss (trend down in value) occurring. So are transaction trade values lumped with fees? Are the fees considered a loss?

I hope CB does help with those pretty freaky taxes...while the Ameromonetary overlords wank off.

CB also didn't mention SHIB until it had been live for a few hours on their platform. I had it on my watch list and it popped up in the "discover more assets". I bought, post on here, then in a delayed timeframe it was defined on CB "discover more assets" as being live 3 hours. So, I'll calculate the time stamp between my purchase, and when CB announced as live.

CB [currently] has SHIB posted as being "added" 16 hours ago, which is last night. Yet I bought it in the afternoon. So if you have something on your watch list, you get to jump in there, but otherwise, there is no information flow, no countdown, like SEC IPO's.

Thanks I value your opinion. I went to go swap some of it out and the ETH fees were just too high, I didn't want to mess with it and I thought it was just as well. I swapped a small bag of ANKR for XLM and a small amount of ZIL rewards for XLM and am in the process of swapping to XDC now. Sent the XLM to Bitrue but the swap to XRP got hung up and now I can't log in, I"m sure it's all temporary, just need to babysit it through the day today and get that done. Thanks again.

Edit to add: I'm bullish overall on XLM, gut feelings included. If was was reckless I would put my whole bank account into XLM, but I've done that so many times, and I've hit the place in my precarious and dismal workplace life that I better hang onto my fiat, because I am so close to quitting my job that it's as though I have already done it. Absolutely poised to walk off the job.

Edit to add again - it was mentioned elsewhere that when Starlink went down a few weeks ago, whenever that was, Stellar Network went down too, and people's XLM sends got hung up for hours.

My ears sure pricked up when I heard that - could Stellar Network be running on Starlink?

Fascinating idea, because I believe Starlink is masquerading as private enterprise and that secretly it is really directly under Space Force.

I successfully traded 1000 ANKR and 300 ZIL (from rewards) for 400 XLM, sent to Bitrue, swapped for XRP then traded XRP for

1072 XDC

Now to send the XDC to custody in Guarda.

Feels like some lightweight maneuvers, "how to FOMO when you don't have any fiat to work with" by Vision Thing TM

Glad I could get some more XDC today though, even if it isn't much.

Also ETH fees are going to kill ERC20 tokens if something isn't done. I don't even want to do anything with the few ERC20 projects that I own. I can't even get rid of them with out taking a haircut I don't want to take. Don't even want to move them. Who wants to buy ETH to do a transaction, and then you have to buy a minimum amount, and unless you have a certain amount you can't sell it or move it, etc etc etc.

After I wrote about Stellar Network and Starlink I started wondering if that's why Jed seems to have that Teflon quality and hasn't been raked over the coals in this SEC nonsense, that I know of anyway.

There are so many projects being build on Stellar Network. Some of them seem to be connected to N-s-r-a/G-s-r-a? In what way I'm sure I don't know, I heard rumors and maybe it's just marketing? Obviously there are tons of scam projects being built on that network, copying the legit ones, every time you search for a legit project in Lobstr wallet you get 4 or 5 with the same name, you have to know what domain they are under to know the "real" one. There are T groups about it, one is Whiplash something? Tons of the projects are having airdrops in Lobstr, I think you find out about it on Stellar Rewards, I think there's a T group for that, I'm getting most information secondhand. I've been adding trustlines and funding them with 2 or 5 XLM, kind of like putting 2.00 bets on the horses at Saratoga :)

Anyway I heard some of the projects being built on Stellar are for tokenizing commodities and the stock market and precious metals and real estate . . . . we probably won't know the end game or outcome of these things for quite some time but it's fun to think about the possibilities.

all that because of wondering about the connection between Stellar Network, Starlink, and Space Force . . . . which I don't know anything about and would be a good area of research for sure.

You must know people in New York City it must be insane there! Not so bad in Florida maybe. It's bizarre here it's causing me a fog of confusion and conflict mentally. Not much longer . . . . . not much longer at all.

It was fun when someone brought a bunch of information about projects on Stellar Network that no one ever heard of before. Makes you excited about the possibilities of the future when you see something completely new, most of which seem to have some kind of charitable focus in some way. Maybe never lucrative, but creative, that counts. Trying something new.
