Quoting: nemo_solus It is not simple for US persons - usually, you will need to use a network service that makes you appear to be at an IP address other than in the USA (can't say the forbidden word). Can't speak to the other exchanges, but KuCoin has both traditional futures and margin as well as spot markets. In particular, on the spot market you can buy tokens that reduce the normal complexity of margin and short trades. Look for tokens with 3L and 3S on the end. For example BTC3L or ETH3S - BTC with 3X leverage in the Long direction or ETH with 3X leverage in the Short direction. They have many Alt coins such as XRP3L or XRP3S as well. I've been trading them both long and short for a few months now and although they do the job, I'll warn that they can very quickly get away from you in the wrong direction, so be very careful and use stops for loss prevention and other forms of risk management. They also don't track the main coin exactly either, so don't rely on only the main coin chart when trading the token. Also, the liquidity on these can often be low, so a good amount of slippage must also be expected when either entering or exiting. Finally, I know many here are not fans of Tether (I'm not, but am also pragmatic about the need to still use it) and unfortunately that is the trade pair all these tokens use, so bear that in mind as well. Hope that's helpful! Great post. Only thing I'll add is that in a situation like that, I would not oppose using Tether because the second Tether implodes they will implement a new trading pair. I know I post a good amount about Tether and the endless litany of problems they have. It's not because I like crapping on them so much but instead the fact that their magnificent crimes are so blatantly ridiculous that they are going down hard. Which means in the end BTC is going down hard. Anyone who's new to this needs to see how much shit BTC maxis are in. It might still go up short term but BTCs long term prognosis is utterly terrible. When the big firms are saying BTC is worthless you can bet they already know what has worth and what they're moving into. Thanks! Agreed about the BTC maxi position - even if they are right about the long term viability of BTC, there is so much going on in the space that there can't help but be more than one "winner". I'd also point out that in every other technological revolution, the idea or company that has ultimately done the best and been the most adopted and profitable has not been the first to the market space. Unfortunately, I'm not smart (or lucky) enough to know what sub-penny coin is going to do the next lambo moon shot. One the of reasons I trade more than "invest" is that I don't have any spare fiat to simply let sit and wait. Trading lets me increase the fiat (or Tether or other stable coin of your choice) that I can then use to make larger trades, building up as time goes on. It's a process that will take time and be mostly unexciting, but I'm confident that in a few years it will be successful. BTC is useful in that it has lots of liquidity and sufficient volatility to trade. Then, a small portion of the profits go into long term holds of good projects such as XRP when the right buying opportunity comes along, such as a major dip. Very astute point on first to market not being the pace setter. Look at some of the first search engines like Altavista and Lycos. Completely non-existent or irrelevant. I do understand why people trade over invest. The closer we get to the end of the lawsuit the less I'm willing to trade because when it all goes down I don't want to be sitting with any fiat knowing I could get priced out at any moment. Everything you say makes perfect sense and I'm glad you post here! Thanks, and thank you for the daily posts of curated Twitter links! |

The countries listed above are correct and Vitalik put ETH in Switzerland to avoid the SEC at all costs even though its Russian based. I also heard that he stole shit from Ripple. Classy! I thought four years was long enough but six is even crazier. The amount of daily good news in staggering. No other tradable commodity in the history of money has been suppressed the way XRP has. |

You cannot justify violating everyone's privacy and sovereignty in order to catch a few who move funds originating from criminal activity. Moreover, what about the transfer of funds by federal agencies conducting criminal activity? What about major banks who have recently been fined for criminal manipulation in the futures markets? What about criminal activity by Federal Reserve Board member themselves which we have recently seen. Fraud, corruption, and violation of citizen's rights needs to stop and you stop by drawing a line somewhere. This is it. Before you start to use crime as an excuse to turn what's left of the United States into a dystopian novel, try cleaning your your own house of corruption and crime before you use it as a pretext to commit more criminal acts by violating people's rights to privacy and their funds when no crime has been committed. |
