CB is just waiting to receive your bank, so you don't run off and claim fraud. After the initial stink, they lower the time frame to 2-3 days before transferring, yet let you buy at a market price before they receive the bank funds. Guess they don't allow "credit".

I am jumping to the conclusion the severe price plunge, the numerous red alerts of GYEN unable to complete orders thru CB, and the huge variation of accuracy in CB's charts indicates a hack.

 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

A good segue into my thoughts today.

I'm torn between the belief that a new pump is coming vs. Whales unloading onto bagholders.

Here's what the BTCUSD order book looks like on Coinbase Pro:

https://imgur.com/a/j4h5igZ

And here's what the daily chart looks like to me for the BTCUSD pair:

https://imgur.com/a/YDkBIIw

There hasn't been much change in the resting orders up in the $69k and above range, but there has been a lot of new interest placed down on the $50-55k range.

On the daily chart, you can see how the price has been supported by the VWAP from late September and early October. The order book volume down to $50k is also supported by the VWAP (grey line) back to the end of July.

Not wanting to steer anyone in the wrong direction here, but I'm curious what others may be thinking since I'm not the only one apparently wondering if this isn't actually some sort of unloading event happening...
 Quoting: nemo_solus

For me, if everyone is steering left, I naturally steer right. If BTC FUD comes out, then I know it's time to buy then scalp some profits. If JPMorgan comes out and says BTC is going to 400K, it's time to sell.

Everyone and their mother thinks we are starting a bull run because of the 2017 fractals. I think it may be the opposite and a whole mess of people dump a lot of gains.
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

I'm of two minds here, so I appreciate the opinion. To me, I try to use both the Fundamentals as well as the Technicals in deciding what to do.

Thanks!

Re: The XRP Investor Thread
...

I had wanted to pick up some additional XRP the other day and had the same thought process.

Purchased some XLM with fiat on Coinbase Pro, sent it over to Kucoin. There I did a quick sale into Tether, then into ETH3S (short Ether) to pick up some value to cover fees and other losses (had expected the market to drop a bit as it was trending down), sold into Tether then into XRP, then transferred into my XUMM XRP wallet - some to hold, some then traded for SOLO.

We'll see how it works out in the long run...
 Quoting: nemo_solus

Thanks. That's pretty much where I'm at as well. I haven't found Kucoin to be very intuitive so I figured Bitrue would be the way to go. The ETH3S is an interesting move to offset some fees. That's a new one to me, for sure appreciate it.
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

You're welcome! Since I was going to be holding it for a while, I was looking to find ways to offset and give some breathing room for potential losses since it was going someplace it can't be easily traded out of.

Yes, Kucoin is a weird interface if you aren't used to it. That's part of the reason I use 3Commas - I can link all the exchanges I use to the same common interface for trading and monitoring profit/loss, plus you get some trading tools and capabilities not found on most exchanges.

Just happened to choose ETH3S in this case, it wasn't anything particular about it, just was something I saw as being likely to trend down on the timeframe I needed it to be.

Good luck!
 Quoting: nemo_solus

Thank you! I'll also be checking out 3commas now!
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

They have a lot of capabilities and I got a bit overwhelmed the first time I started using it.

The SmartTrade feature is what I use mostly, although I do sometimes also use the SmartSell and webhooks feature in conjunction with Tradingview or some external code to start a sale via the DCA bots.

Lots of capability, so it's very easy to quickly enter/exit a trade. As a beginner, I found myself overtrading, so please bear that warning in mind if you start to use it. Aside from trading with real funds, they also have a "paper" trading mode that uses real live data, but fake funds so you don't have to risk anything while learning to drive.

For me, the best part of the system is that you can set entry and exit (with multiple take profit points, if you like) along with stoplosses all at once, so it allows you to be a less emotional trader - just set it and let the bots do their thing for you. You can easily manually override it if you see something wrong though.

As you can also go back and see your trade history with profits and losses clearly visible, you get good feedback on what ideas worked and what didn't. You can also place notes with the order, so anything you want to remember about it will be saved in the history too.

Generally, they offer "Black Friday" or "Christmas/New Years" discount sales that knock a significant amount off the subscription fee, so now's a good time to take a look (they have a free trial period to get started too).

Good Luck!

Hello Pool,

Thank you for contacting Coinbase. When you use a bank account as a payment method to cash in funds or purchase cryptocurrency on Coinbase, these funds are not immediately available for cashout from Coinbase for security reasons.

Our team is currently reviewing your cashout availability time frame. Please note, we cannot guarantee changes to this time frame. You are still able to buy and sell in your Coinbase account.

You will receive an update via email if your timeframe has been changed.

For more information on how to use a bank account, or when cashed in funds are available for cashout, please visit: [link to help.coinbase.com (secure)]

More information on how to cash in funds directly to Coinbase Pro can be found here: [link to help.coinbase.com (secure)]

Two questions for everyone. Obviously not looking for financial advice, just looking for opinions.

If you wanted to make a large fiat purchase of XRP right now, where would you go? Uphold makes you keep it on their exchange for over two months. Buying XLM or another token and then converting a large quantity of tokens would come with an enormous exchange fee.

If you got part one figured out, how would you time it? Do you think there will be a better re-entry point than the $1.07 were currently sitting at?

TIA everyone (:
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

If I wanted to avoid fees I'd buy XLM then send it to the exchange service hosted at [link to www.crazy4cryptos.com] and then send it to a wallet like Atomic for self custody.

I think it's changenow.io but if you go through his site you get cheaper fees.
 Quoting: Vision Thing

Huh. Thanks VT. I've never heard of that site which always makes me a bit Leary but if you trust it then that's good enough for me. I might try it in small portions to make sure it's all good. Thank you!

Oh it's straight up, that's Digital Dave, Crazy4Cryptos, he has a youtube channel that I learned so much from, and I paid to be in his Patreon group for a whole year. I wouldn't be having such a good experience in crypto if it weren't for him when I started out. He's 100%.

But that's a nice compliment saying you would trust it coming from me, thanks!

I gotta add some clarity, you were asking about low fees, and I always understood that site to offer the lowest fees. Other than that and the fact that I do trust Digital Dave, I haven't used it much if ever.

I just send XLM from Coinbase and swap for XRP in Atomic. I'm sure the fees are higher, but it's super trustworthy and secure, for me, it's very reassuring the way the swap process is displayed and I've used their customer service before with excellent results.

This could have moved some people out of crypto, early:
Here's hoping the new bill passes.

Representatives Patrick McHenry (NC-10) and Tim Ryan (OH-13) have today introduced the Keep Innovation in America Act, a bipartisan bill seeking to fix the “digital asset” reporting requirements in the infrastructure bill turned into law this week.
In September, a tax change introduced in the infrastructure bill would require U.S. persons receiving over $10,000 in bitcoin and cryptocurrency to report the sender’s personal information to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), extending the provisions of section 6050I that currently only apply to cash transactions. The new bill aims to remove these reporting requirements entirely.

So I went back this morning and looked at the site again. XRP is 1.09 and they're charging 1.16. The fees are incredibly low because they tax you 7 cents over market price. That doesn't work for me.

I went and did the math if I bought XLM and sent to Atomic and then exchanged for XRP. I'm getting charged $3K for the process and that is steep. But you're right, the security that comes with it is completely reassuring. If I didn't have to do the exchange it would less than $800.

Still I appreciate the idea! Still trying to figure out what the best plan is, just really don't feel like coughing up 3K for an exchange.

I feel my airdrop will be worth 2 million in no time. It's going to be much like a Binance coin in value. Look at the amount of solo available.

The reason why I want the XRP that I have is the fear of my xrp mooning at any second. Lol. I still feel that xrp is the end all be all in crypto.

First of all Abe, thanks for starting this up here. I sift through enough twitter and there's a lot of shitcoin airdrops that go on that I don't give credence to. This is completely different to me.

I'm glad there's a month to sort all of this out as I'm really trying to figure out what the best strat is for this. First of all, do you have a recommendation on where to straight up buy SOLO? I saw this link and some of the exchanges I am unfamiliar with.

[link to www.sologenic.com (secure)]

My real dilemma right now is what to do with the XRP. I'm with you man, XRP is the be all end all for me. Been saving for four years for a reason and if I missed out on it mooning because I greedily went for an airdrop, I may never be heard from again. So what's the best way to go? Receiving 5 SOLO instead of .2 is a massive difference. Do you convert your XRP hours before the snapshot to SOLO, then convert back after it's taken?

You're clearly the best source of knowledge on this so I appreciate your thoughts on this and what you're thinking.

BTW you are right, we are all very very early.
