I've always used stablecoins as a bridge to get in and out of positions. I've actually used USDC in the past too. If I ever saw it at $1.32 during a transaction I'd freak out.

First of all Abe, thanks for starting this up here. I sift through enough twitter and there's a lot of shitcoin airdrops that go on that I don't give credence to. This is completely different to me.

I'm glad there's a month to sort all of this out as I'm really trying to figure out what the best strat is for this. First of all, do you have a recommendation on where to straight up buy SOLO? I saw this link and some of the exchanges I am unfamiliar with.

My real dilemma right now is what to do with the XRP. I'm with you man, XRP is the be all end all for me. Been saving for four years for a reason and if I missed out on it mooning because I greedily went for an airdrop, I may never be heard from again. So what's the best way to go? Receiving 5 SOLO instead of .2 is a massive difference. Do you convert your XRP hours before the snapshot to SOLO, then convert back after it's taken?

You're clearly the best source of knowledge on this so I appreciate your thoughts on this and what you're thinking.

Well dude, this what I did. All year I have been accumulating XRP. As much as I can. Then I saw the Solo drop. I was very lucky and entered at around 11 cents. I bought 500 thinking a 2500 airdrop is incredible. Then I started reading a little more. I figured a 10000 airdrop is even better. I bought in again at around 1.60?? I just looked at the numbers and the risk. In my case I had made more than expected xrp through other airdrops.

I said, Fuck it. 10000 of anything is good. I kept thinking, even if its worth 50 cents by the time it drops, that's 5000 dollars. That's 5000 dollars I could put back into xrp.


I know damn well its going to be worth more eventually. And its going to be free. This shit will peak right before the snapshot. After the snapshot I'm trading all my current Solo back to XRP. Probably tripling or 5x my xrp bag.

Then I wait for the solo drop. And I'm holding all of it.




I bought all my Solo through Xumm. I opened a xumm wallet and then opened a solo trustline. I then traded xrp for solo.

I will move all my current xrp to xumm for the snapshot to get the extra solo.

I will move it back immediately afterwards.

Wow. Amazing dude. 11 cents is a helluva entry point. Very impressive. I didn't realize you could buy straight from XUMM, I thought it was simply a wallet. Does it do exchanges also? Or what's the easiest way to convert XRP into Solo or vice versa?

On Xumm, after you add the TrustLine (SOLO), then TAP SOLO, it'll bring up another page for "Send | Exchange | Remove"

Hit Exchange.

You can then swap back and forth from XRP/SOLO to convert.

There is also a github DeX that you can exchange for all kinds of shit. I have not used it yet. I just exchange straight from xumm. I started using xumm when I got into CSC "CasinoCoin". That's how I learned about trustlines. I had bought CSC on bitrue then transferred it over because of tips I could get through another site and Twitter. I no longer have CSC.


When you add the solo trustline, you can just trade xrp from there. And vice versa. That's where I'm trading back to xrp after the snapshot.

I can see it now....24th Dec Airdrop, everyone has their XRP in XUMM Wallet and bang its all gone. XUMM gets haqed and we all lose our bags.

I was doing a thought experiment today - what would I say and what advice would I give if at some point during the upcoming Holidays a close friend or relative should ask about getting into Cryptos?

Of my friend group, none are involved, despite being very technically competent people. Most relatives are not involved either.

The easiest thing for a beginner is to simply buy and hold, so I wouldn't want to recommend anything aside from high quality (preferably undervalued at the moment) cryptos.

The answer, I think, is to get them set up with a simple App like the ones from Coinbase and Uphold, despite the higher fees that are charged.

I'm thinking an immediate buy into XRP as it's undervalued at the moment due to the SEC litigation and then set them up to DCA some fixed amount at regular intervals into BTC, ETH and maybe some small amount into something like Link, HBAR, FTT, or XDC.

As simple as it seems to us once you know how, there are a lot of newcomers out there who will need our help to get started.

Anyone else thinking about this or have any wisdom?

A couple things/rules before I start this:

1. I am not affiliated with any prior XRP poster here. Yes I've posted on many threads but I am not one of them. I do not recruit, I don't care about other sites. GLP has been my home for 20+ years. If anything, I bring people here. I've met many GLPers IRL so this is not an attempt at anything other than discussion. They can vouch for it.

2. If you're an asshole, you're out of the thread for good. If you're a cointelpro, chicom, 3.50 shill, you can fuck right off. If I have to turn off AC posting, I'll do it in two seconds. I've never cared about what you think, nor will I ever. You play for the wrong team and your shill opinions don't matter. There's enough of you on the boards that you don't need to be here.

3. With that said, dissenting opinions are welcome. I'm not looking for an echo chamber, I'm looking for real talk. I'll tell you right now that I'm an XRP maxi but that doesn't mean my mind isn't malleable. Things change. I've reinvented myself so many times in life and I plan to do it more. If XRP shows me something to get out, I'll for sure cut my losses.

4. There are a lot of good posters in this community that belong in good XRP discussion and I hope they come around. ARK, grove street, My Foolish Daydream, T-Man, pool, Vision Thing, brian frees, Abe Froman.....the list goes on and on I'm missing a lot of the top of my head but these are legit people who know what's coming. Their insight is invaluable. We had a good thing going. I'm bringing this back in a transparent way.
