Re: The XRP Investor Thread
I have read others who share his sentiment. I understand what he's saying but if you can flip back into XRP in the matter of seconds, I struggle to see where the distance is.
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

There's a lot to think about, and I am not sure but I think he's talking about people swapping their XRP to SOLO for the snapshot, and then swapping it back?

XRPLion1 is the guy pushing a "flip of the switch" increase in value to astronomical numbers, which would not be able to be cashed out by the exchanges (where would they get the funds to cash out that kind of increase in value?).

I think perhaps (just speculating!) he's worried an XRP holder would have their holdings in SOLO form when the flip of the switch happens?

99.99% unlikely HOWEVER, wouldn't that suck to get wrecked that way if the .01% chance did actually occur.
 Quoting: Vision Thing

I absolutely understand that. However I cannot see the flip of the switch happening while the lawsuit is going on. Seems like an impossibility to me, though I could be wrong.

If there was to be a buyback, there would be a window for it. If the switch flips very shortly here and I miss out, that's something I'll have to deal with. Where the current landscape is, I just can't see the switch flipping until at least next year. Never know though, it is a gamble and not for everyone.
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

My opinion only, the lawsuit is a stalling operation to delay the price increase, it's just a cover story to hold everything down until all the pieces are in place and the timing is right for deployment of the new system.

It could be settled at any given time, without warning.

Also many have speculated that at the time of the financial reset/flip switch to new financial system, there would be a power blackout, internet outage, that could last days or weeks.

This could be a serious issue if a person's XRP was in SOLO form and they had assumed they would be able to swap it back instantly.

Also how could they possibly give advance notice of a sudden increase in value?

Everyone would beg borrow or steal to buy as much XRP as possible if they knew a massive price increase was imminent.

So there will be no warning and no notice- I guess?

Thinking out loud here.
 Quoting: Vision Thing

I very much see this viewpoint. However a settlement means that Ripple doesn't get the clarity they are seeking. Unless part of the settlement is the SEC giving Ripple a clear path, they won't settle. And the SEC admitting defeat would rid them of regulation by enforcement, something they desperately don't want to give up.

Your scenario really could play out, I just can't see it with the current dynamics.

The whales but have been scalping profits off Solo today as it bounced down to $5 and is already back to $6. Going to be a very interesting few weeks. Crazy it's making this move while the market is down...

Re: The XRP Investor Thread
I’ve been trying to move xrp off my solo wallet for 3 days now. With the xrpl having issues the solo wallet will not process a transaction with the low fee schedule, there is no option to increase it and the solo dev team must have left town after cashing out because they aren’t responding to inquiries about it.

Within hours, Xumm had a fee option allowing users to select a higher fee schedule and the transactions would go through.

Solo fixed the fee issue on the DEX if you are trading, but not for wallet to wallet transfers. They can’t blame the ledger for what’s happening on their wallet. This is very poor handling of this issue and makes me leery of how they’ll perform in the future and sours my opinion of the solo brand.

Too bad! The wallet is a nice interface with the DEX but I’ve lost confidence in it at this point.
 Quoting: Wuher

Thank you for the report, I created a SOLO wallet but haven't activated it yet (at least I don't think I did).

The idea of transferring my XRP holdings from Atomic and Exodus to XUMM and SOLO wallets for the airdrop, is doing nothing for me. It seems like a bad move, or at least one I should think through seriously before doing.
 Quoting: Vision Thing

You don't have to transfer ALL of you XRP holdings to swap for SOLO. There are many who already profited handsomely from the SOLO price appreciation. You could have been one of them.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80873341

Agreed. I decided to take some profit to my xrp bag and move off solo. If the AD pans out, I’ll e happy with my xrp pro ration.

I did send a tweet to solo about the wallet issue. They sent the update to the wallet/App Store for the fess schedule update and I was finally able to move my stuff off the wallet. I’m being critical because it should have been a priority. Maybe it was the iOS approval process holdup, I don’t know.

If you have a ledger hardware wallet, you can set a trust line using the xrp toolkit to get the solo AD without losing confidence in where your xrp is held.

There is potential for the price of solo to stay up into Jan if we are indeed heading into the crescendo of the bull run.

Even if there was a large bull run, Solo is going to crash super hard imo and will take months if not a year or two to rebuild. I'm still not sold on whether the bull run is happening or not but time will tell!
 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

Months. I dont even think quite a year.

And I thought the price was crazy now.

Wait until they release the Solo Debit card.

This is just me thinking, in order for that debit card to actually work, one coin has to hold a shit ton of value (like 200 to 500 dollars) because of the amount of coins available (only 200 to 400 million).

Imagine a national bank running on 200 million. That's a very small bank.

We are talking the entire planet here.

Our cryptocurrency is good where ever Visa is accepted.

Crazy fucking world.

Etoro is one of many sadly...

 Quoting: Luminous Epinoia

yeah definitely DO NOT trust an exchange to give you your Flare, SGB, or Solo, use a different way as they are too damn greedy...not your keys = not your crypto!

I don't think Ripple will settle, they know valuable XRP interledger protocol, nearly fee-less instant settlements are. Part of it is bank cartels stalling as they love milking big fees for almost nothing & the eth, btc pump dump jp morgan shenanigans

The bankers I talk to refused to talk about XRP but were surprised I knew about it...they also said they need regulations before they can even begin discussing using it in their board rooms. It could set a precedence for crypto regulations & definitely will give XRP a huge leg up on coins with or without use cases

they definitely want to know how many XRP guppies like us own before they 'go live' with the new system, air drops are part of that (we thought that about Flare when it came out) I don't believe the 'government buyback' sounds like a load of cow dung!

I must not have written what I meant very clearly. I was writing about shifting my holdings from one wallet to another, not swapping out one coin for another rose

I did get a little bit of SOLO token with a little bit of my XRP, and yes, it has gone up in price, thank you.

That was exciting!

Was practically no BTC volume other than market making bots. Even less volume now other than the bots, but their volume is now greater than before.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the price pump up as there is so little volume, but I'm sitting it out for now as it's still too unsettled for my tastes.

Also wondering if this isn't a harbinger of stock market action next week. Crypto has been a good gauge of sentiment in the past and is typically a few days ahead of the rest.

Well said and I fully agree with everything there. That's why I can't see a flash settlement coming soon. I also don't buy into the government buy back theory however I won't go so far as to dismiss it either.

One thing is for certain in crypto, you never know what's coming next. Because of that I think it's important to keep the eyes and mind wide open and not look at any scenario with tunnel vision of absolute certainty.
