So, to avoid taxes nobody keeps a large supply to offset a disruption in the supply chain...Therefore, everything grinds to a halt and magnifies the fucking stupidity of it all... Exactly! I used to work in the appliance repair industry. Up until about 2010 or so, we used to carry something called truck stock. Now, a good 80% of repair people don't carry any replacement parts and the rest very little. There were many parts houses so to speak that you could easily go pick a part up at.That is no longer the case. The average wait to get serviced after a tech has come out to diagnose your problem appliance is 2 to 4 weeks.......all due to the on demand release of parts to repair companies. And now with a chip shortage, cars aren't the only things missing chips.... |

Ah—thanks for the explanation of why there is a delay in the effects of this showing up. I had no idea inventory was taxed. If this is true then the creation of the Just In Time Delivery System in America at least was proof that the end of the U.S. as we know the U.S. to be was finally going to eventually happen. Here in Texas it only takes about four consecutive days of no reliably running electricity production for people to start shooting, stabbing, murdering, raping, and worse to each other. That is what I personally heard of, about, and partially experienced during our relatively minor winter storm back in mid-February 2021. I thought it was the Chinese who used to buy up the regular steel from the US, for building in their booming economy. But you say that they produce their own stainless? |
