It's not so much that the Bible-god is not the real God, but rather it is that pure original spiritual teachings have been sprinkled with human biases through misinterpretation, misunderstanding, and ill-intent.

Any teaching that encourages us to become more kind, benevolent, compassionate, forgiving, and respectful to each other is a good thing. Such teachings help us to slowly move away from the strong grip of the ego mind which some call the survival mind or the mind of lack, and transition to our hidden true nature that is unconditional love, compassion, benevolence, and joy.

Blessed with free will, we get to choose what we want to believe. And at our current state of low consciousness, rarely is the better choice the easy choice. No judgement though, because this is all part of the long journey of us exploring, experiencing, learning, and growing up to higher spiritual maturity and wisdom, towards becoming evolving humans more able to live with each other in peace and harmony despite having different perspectives and beliefs.
