My best ever 305 at a Bodyweight of 148

Reps 225 x 12 (Stopped because it was supposed to be a heavy day. For some reason 225 felt like 135 that day.

Me, I max out at 235. That’s right two plates on each side. Today I maxed out without a spotter too.

Thats damn impressive. My bench has always been my weak point. I like to focus on standing barbell press over bench. It will blow up your shoulders and back.

The guy I used to lift with Charlie Evans (RIP).(Vietnam Vet Crazy MoFo) was one of the top powerlifters in the Nation. At 242 weight class
775 Squat
775 Deadlift
500 Bench

Steroids were involved

Years ago. I was 19 had a job that a machine does now. In college, I could bench 25 reps of 325. Curl 150. I weighted 215 pounds. I was the guy you wanted to know when you got into bar fights.

Today's pussy's only know steroids and limp dicks.

No idea.

I haven't laid on a bench to do a press in over 25 years.

There's never been a situation where I've ever needed to press a truck off my chest or a steel I-beam, so the exercise is really kind of pointless.

Max bench press is a very myopic measure of the worth of a man.

Yeaha I forgot to add he did take anabolic steroids..
I did see him in full blown roid rage a few times. There was a body builder Larry Stratif he entered Mr Harrisburg. He won the Medium class and was out on stage during the "Pose Off".. Poor Guy fell over right on stage and died of a massive Heart attack. LOt of the guys in the gym got off roids right after that.

There was another Guy He should be in the books. He won Mr (Some Big contest in his height class back in the day) Marty Varanicar [link to www.ebay.com (secure)]

Charlie got into it with him..Only Once..after that Marty never gave Charlie any shit..

200-230 is all you need to max out. Anything higher is awesome as hell but not required. I must admit it's pretty cool watching someone knock out a 500lb or more press.

No he was right by saying it's myopic.

Plus, out of 24 years of Mil service I removed eight guys that held an attitude that you sport from the interdiction detachments. Why, because they are full of themselves and not team players. Life is going to be rough for you if you don't let that go. Well, unless your a daddies boy and you can't stand on your own two feet without a hand in daddies pocket. True men will find you worthless pretty quick.

50 lbs over my bodyweight.

In high school they would put the names of everyone that could do that on a board.

That has always bench my "benchmark" to maintain.

This exactly.

What you bench press should be compared to why you are weightlifting in the first place.

For purpose of fighting, focusing on putting up as much weight as you possibly can does not equal punching power.

Force = Mass x Acceleration.

I'm just under 6' bench 50 lbs over my body weight, whatever that fluctuates, I'm very fast and can go 100% first round and 80% entire next 2 rounds with knockout power to the end.

Sparred strong muscled up guys all the time, most diminish and lose speed after 1 1/2 minutes. By the third round it's like they are almost begging to be put out of their misery they are so gassed.

Outside the ring, I've been in over 100 street/bar fights. Nearly always against much bigger guys. I can count on 1 hand how many street fights I lost. In the ring, that's another story. I liked fighting guys I should ,by most logic, lose to and finding a way to win. Very often I did not find a way to win.

Re: How much you bench bro?
Two 45 plates on each side is 225 with an olympic bar. That’s…not that impressive, and neither are your math skills. Go into your Mom’s room and get the 7lbs plastic covered weight she uses as a door stop, hold it over your head and drop repeatedly until you get some sense knocked into you, son. You’re embarrassing yourself.
