I just stick with dumbells.
Real questions here are how fast are you OP?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80639697 This exactly.
What you bench press should be compared to why you are weightlifting in the first place.
For purpose of fighting, focusing on putting up as much weight as you possibly can does not equal punching power.
Force = Mass x Acceleration.
I'm just under 6' bench 50 lbs over my body weight, whatever that fluctuates, I'm very fast and can go 100% first round and 80% entire next 2 rounds with knockout power to the end.
Sparred strong muscled up guys all the time, most diminish and lose speed after 1 1/2 minutes. By the third round it's like they are almost begging to be put out of their misery they are so gassed.
Outside the ring, I've been in over 100 street/bar fights. Nearly always against much bigger guys. I can count on 1 hand how many street fights I lost. In the ring, that's another story. I liked fighting guys I should ,by most logic, lose to and finding a way to win. Very often I did not find a way to win.
