The White House announced that they had "high level" talks with Fox as well as other media organizations. My guess is they made some overt threats of some sort of emergency FCC law which could allow temporary suspension of broadcasting and then suspensions of the licenses they hold in regards to cable and satellite operations. Whether it would be legal could be held in limbo for years when Biden shut down federal government and court systems until COVID threats were contained. Meanwhile they would be done and bleeding money with zero revenue
