Florida's Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has urged residents of his state to take the coronavirus vaccine, despite being a virulent opponent of pandemic mitigation efforts like lockdowns and face mask mandates. This week, Mr DeSantis called on Floridians to take the coronavirus vaccine. "If you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero ... These vaccines are saving lives," he said during a press conference. Coronavirus cases in the state have spiked over the past week, doubling among the state's unvaccinated population. An estimated one in five new Covid cases are coming out of Florida. The announcement is a break from Mr DeSantis' usual resistance to coronavirus mitigation efforts. [ link to news.yahoo.com (secure)] DeSantis said that people who have gotten the vaccine have near zero chances of catching it again. But the Government is trying to make everyone mask up again. If those who are vaccinated need masks then our government is FOS. One question everyone should be asking themselves is, why is the government pushing so hard to get EVERYONE vaccinated? It makes zero sense. Fauci is a liar, plain and simple. Those who do get sick who are under 65 have a 99.8% recovery rate. I've never worn masks and I won't get the vaccine. I don't care who knows who who has had covid. I've known 4 people who none needed serious medical care and all recovered quickly. They all told me it was a little worse than a cold. It's B.S. I had a niece die of the flu in 2016. That was worse than this garbage we're seeing today.
