INVITATION to READ the WHOLE BIBLE in 40 DAYS & 40 NIGHTS: FINAL UPDATE, p. 7

41 years ago. Hence I'm reading the whole book again. It should be a read as often as I have read LOTR which is 40. So rereading the Bible (it gets quicker the more you read it) seems apropos. The times we are in may be construed as Biblical, so it is time to reread the source material.

Bless you Op, i will state though, the scriptures from Genesis to Malachi, in KJV were corrupted by Scribes and pharisees at council of Jamnia, LXX good, Masoretic text is corrupted.Also there are a number of His churches which are older than protestant, with larger canons, Ethiopian Church being an example. So Yes its quite important to Read all, Under prayer guidance of The Holy Spirit, Lord bless those who participate so His perfect will manifest, in YAHshua/Joshua/Jesus name amen

They should also read the history on how the Bible was written and the striking similarities between the Old Testament and much olders stories from other cultures.

The Good Lord is working through you and everyone on this thread, for sure! Even the sticklers who are arguing over which Bible version should be used are bringing something to the table.

God knows we need this read-through, and we need it now.

As for which version of the King James we should use, read from whatever one you have at hand. Just get those spiritual veggies off the plate and into your mouth, and God will take it from there.

Complete waste of time. But if you're going to do it, make a list of all the nonsense, contradictions, inconsistencies, illogic, and completely irrelevant facts. Then spend the rest of your life trying to make sense of them.

I'll gladly join in. I read the scriptures daily, and am currently on my 3rd time reading the entire Bible, but will add this additional reading to my schedule.

Yes. People should pay attention to what you read. Highlight what interests you and make notes on something you want to look up. Pray for the help of God’s Holy Spirit in Jesus name before reading. It’s a good idea to read the Bible OP. Anyway better to read it then not.

Read whatever version you want. They are all translations.

I'm all for that Bible. That could be a topic all by itself as the flawed version are actually 'attacks'.
I ended up using an electric version as it makes studying the book easier. Without joking around, that is what you will be just starting after your 40-day task is completed. Based on what I wrote a few years back I could not have written it just by reading the book as if it was a novel.
This would be equal to be 'my study notes' after a few decades of 'chatting and reading'. It is the beginning of a discussion rather than anything 'finite'.

I also tend to see Ge:1-3 and Re:20-22 being a decent 'preface' that introduces who God is and where this earth came from, where it is now, and where it (and all the life it has hosted)headed.


The 1611KJV is based on the GreekNT and the HebrewOT. Nobody who opens the book with the intention to get something out of it and then talk about it and not be laughed at by others.

In your case, the long preface would be useful just to show they were honest men doing the task they were paid to do, translate and keep personal opinions out of the book.

You might also like to listen to the version where the whole book is meant to be understood by just one group, the people that Re:1 references. (hint:it is all people alive 5 years before the return happens) That is the climax of the whole book.
