Quoting: Saint Lance the Odd from BC Don't be shy! Reading the Bible from one end to the other gives you the "Big Picture" of scripture. Doing it in the condensed time frame of 40 days and 40 nights helps ensure you'll stay motivated and make it all the way to the end. Plus, you'll be doing it with a group of other believers. We all need to get strong and stay strong for what's coming, and feeding on God's Word for a few hours every day is one of the best ways to do it. I'm not shy...cough, cough. It just happens to be my 53rd coming up in a few days. So with popping around the Province a wee bit, 2 hours (6 in total) of focused reading might be stretching it. Happy 53rd and many more to come! You can read any time of the day or night, an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening (that's just an average; it might not take you that long), every day from July 23 to August 31. It's not a deep reading, just a read-through to see what's what and what's where in scripture. You can make notes to go back to certain places to do a deeper reading at another time. Making time for God and his Word always brings blessings -- even more than birthdays!  Now that I think of it. It's really been 41 years since I read it cover to cover. And I read really quickly, not speed reading per se which 'skips' words, so...sure. Cheerio!
