Message Subject INVITATION to READ the WHOLE BIBLE in 40 DAYS & 40 NIGHTS: FINAL UPDATE, p. 7

For anyone who’s interested, a group of us is doing a Bible read-through starting with Genesis on Friday, July 23rd, and ending at Revelation on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021.

That’s 40 days and 40 nights of God’s Word, reading the Bible cover to cover.

To get through the whole Bible in 40 days and 40 nights, we’ve divided it into 40 readings of roughly 20 pages each. That should take US around 2 hours a day. This is not a Bible study, so a deep reading is not the aim here. We’ll be reading with our lamps topped up and our loins girded, so to speak. Again, this is a read-through, not a study.

It would be great if you could join us and we could all read the same sections of the Bible together at more or less the same time (at least on the same day), like a cloud of witnesses.

If you think God’s calling you to do this, I suggest you do it. We’ve got some dark days ahead. Christians prep by reading God’s Word and remaining in prayer with God and Jesus at all times. Doing a read-through now will help you strengthen your spiritual muscles. We need to be strong for what’s coming. We need to be strong for ourselves and for each other.

The Bible will be the King James Version.

I'm in. I have been thinking about this and unable to get myself going on it. The group will motivate me! Thank you for this!

You're very welcome.

Yes, we'll all be motivating each other in spirit (since we won't actually be in physical contact with each other as we read in private), but God's Spirit will be doing most of the motivating. You make the first step by making the commitment to the 40 days and 40 nights, and God's Spirit will take you the rest of the way.
