I have resisted getting the vaccine so far. However, I am facing oral surgery soon, and wonder if I should go ahead and get the shot beforehand. Of all the people I know, no one who has had the vaccine has had any serious side effects. I am in the New Orleans area, and Covid rates are going up fast lately, so the peer pressure is rising accordingly. The oral surgery is to extract a wisdom tooth.
Here is my question for the GLP hive mind: If I do cave in and get myself vaccinated, which vaccine should it be, and why?

Even if there is no immediate side effects, you should have a serious concern that there have been no long term studies of using mRNA vaccines in general, and nothing for this group of vaccines. So it's possible that you have NO immediate (or noticeable) side effects, but have some serious problems in the future. Nobody has a clue, so not a gamble I would take. I only know two people, personally, who have had side effects. One, a 65 year old woman who developed Bells Palsy; the second a 30 year old woman who had severe anxiety attacks immediately after (for about two weeks) and also had a blood clot identified.
