I have resisted getting the vaccine so far. However, I am facing oral surgery soon, and wonder if I should go ahead and get the shot beforehand. Of all the people I know, no one who has had the vaccine has had any serious side effects. I am in the New Orleans area, and Covid rates are going up fast lately, so the peer pressure is rising accordingly. The oral surgery is to extract a wisdom tooth.
Here is my question for the GLP hive mind: If I do cave in and get myself vaccinated, which vaccine should it be, and why?

Gene therapy disease treatment was Moderna's original intended market and it brought in a ton of big dollar investors. Moderna turned to a vaccine only model because every single other gene therapy experiment they undertook was a horrendous failure. Moderna stock was plummeting about 4 years ago to the point where investors were scared it was a Theranos level scam. Vaccines were their only viable option to remain financially solvent. Go look at the WSJ article on here. Before this vaxx, Moderna had never made one single viable drug or vaccine approved for human use in its 10 year existence. This is the first one, and you are condoning joining its human experimental trial? No thanks.
