It's complicated. Some of them do believe the worst, and it has damaged the good and positive parts of the "movement" that they have put that at the forefront. It makes it too easy to write the rest off as crazy talk as well.

In reality I think there is sort of a spectrum of depravity and yes, at the bottom that kind of thing may actually happen, but the majority of "them" are most likely just abusive and perverts rather than satanic murderers.
