Covid-19, this reality, originally a simulation, ran out of processing power, put every one on lock down and put face masks on the NPC'S to save energy until it worked through an equation matrix. Then when implemented on a test run the powers that be got greedy with vaccine money.
The good part is just around the corner.
It better be the ending i wrote.
