Re: What will you be remembered for?
Nothing.

Like most of us.

Humans are like a drop of water in a bucket. Scoop some out and there's no hole.

Sad but true.

Just do good, for it's own sake. Not to be remembered, just because.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80125580

I'm with you.

We look up at the same moon that every human has looked at for hundreds of thousands of years.

People come and go...

Most are forgotten and most of us don't even know they existed at all.

I don't care what anyone thinks of me after I'm gone. In fact, I don't even want a stupid funeral. I just want to be buried and left alone.

I try to do my best while I'm here. After that...life goes on and most won't know that we even ever existed.

Re: What will you be remembered for?
It’s coming. Many of us won’t be here in the next few years. What will you be remembered for?

Me? Hopefully a good, loyal, faithful husband and friend to my wife. But I hope my wife and I pass away together. That is what I pray for now as I watch the world burn.

We will soon all be led to the "shower", I will hopefully be remembered for never giving in and staying true to my beliefs!

As far as I'm concerned, I don't care what people remember me for.
My extended family hates me for completely untrue reasons.

They are utter idiots and there are court documents that prove it.

I'll remember them as the utterly stupid, lying, dishonest, unthinking halfwits that they are.

Not a single one of them or their offspring will ever amount to anything other than being as stupid as they are.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78121322

Why are people so obsessed with what other people think of them.

Who cares?

Everyone dies, and I assure everyone, I don't think much of any of them.

Yes, but our lives directly impact many around us.

No doubt you will be remembered by someone either in good light or as a dark person who caused pain.

I will always remember the woman my dad left my mom for. She was a soulless being who dumped my dad for another guy after only 2 years. She was the classic home wrecking cunt. She never really loved my dad, she just enjoyed the power of ruining someone’s marriage because she could. My mom never wanted a divorce, she forgave my dad for cheating. She was a good mom. RIP. She deserved better.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79248910

This is what you'll be remembered for?

Might want to re-evaluate.

Similarly...

My Dad left my Mom for another woman when I was 6, and married her... which caused a broken family and hell on earth for years.

Conversely, the same 'harlot' that broke up that marriage went on to be with my Dad for more than four decades after, and to this day, goes with him daily for his pancreatic cancer treatments, and has stood his side, solidly, without waver.

Perspective.
I am a Christian.

No, I wrote what hopefully I’ll be remembered for in first post.

That post was an example of me remembering a person who impacted my life and left pain for a long time. My step mom will be remembered as a homewrecking cunt. I had to watch my mom suffer for years over a broken heart. The woman who cheated with my dad knew what she was doing and did not care. She destroyed a family and impacted 6 of us, my mom and 4 siblings and me all suffered losing our family when dad left.

Re: What will you be remembered for?
My Dad was an awesome, well-liked man. I am proud to be his son. When he passed away, I realized his service and funeral had about 1/3 as many people as I envisioned. Then I realized he had outlived every parent in our neighborhood and all but a handful of friends. There were still maybe 250 acquaintances, family, and friends, but not the thousand or so I pictured.

He was the epitome of decency and integrity. He wasn't perfect, and he knew that. But the truth is, increasingly fewer even remember who he was. It's a cold reality that we are as vapor.

But I still honor him and look forward to seeing him and Mom again.

Being an asshole.

Only now do we realize.

All the regrets....

All the pain I caused.

I decided yesterday to try and be as kind as I should have been in whatever time i have left.
