Now what?
Jump in your car and tune the radio for local news broadcasts on the AM and/or FM dial.
Dead air or static...
How many of us are prepared to wake up tomorrow with no phone, no internet, no TV, no nothing!
Practical discussion for life saving communications if they do take the grid down.
It could very well be something we all face in the not so distant future.

If electronics are fried, the entire world stops functioning and we start over. For most people, this would be the end. If electricity is just down for some other reason, terrorism, or something, I'd get on my ham radio using the marine battery, and talk to people around the world and see what's going on. I would visit my Dad and my mother in law to make sure they're ok. My dad would have visited my brother to make sure he's OK (he's always needed guidance).
