Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
DUMB.
No one is claiming Jesus is the Father.
Jesus is the Son of God, yet God Himself.
[See the Trinitarian nature of God above]

See above. The Godhead is a Trinty.
Jesus is the Son of God, yet God Himself.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

Jesus said the Father is "The only TRUE God"

John 17:3 And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee
the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

.....

Jesus has a God - the Father. It's NOT Himself.
Does God have a god? NOPE. The SON OF God has a God.

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not;
for I am not yet ascended to my Father:
but go to my brethren, and say unto them,

I ascend unto my Father, and your Father;

and to my God, and your God.

.....

Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will
I make a pillar in the temple of my God,
and he shall go no more out: and I will write
upon him the name of my God
,
and the name of the city of my God,
which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of
heaven from my God: and I will write upon
him my new name

.....

John 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Equal? That's NOT what Jesus says.

The Father SENT Jesus.
The Father SENDS the Holy Spirit.

That requires AUTHORITY and power.

0. The Father says "I am God - there is NO ONE else".

00. Jesus SAID the Father is the
"only TRUE God" and "His God - OUR God".
- John 17:3 and John 20:17.

000. Jesus NEVER said "I am God".

0000. Jesus NEVER said "call me God".

1. Jesus NEVER said "pray to me" NOR "worship me".

2. Jesus NEVER said to pray to ANYONE other than the Father.

3. NO one says these THREE words - "Jesus is God".
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

As I predicted, OP -

This NON Servant of the Lord attempts to diminish Jesus Christ every chance he gets. This is abnormal for someone who is saved by Christ. (ie - a TRUE Christian)
I smell a cult or a muslim imposter ... good practice for those just being introduced to the Bible.
Many false brethren are about and your sword must be sharp with the Word.

OK, Son of the Devil .. here it is.
Jesus accepted worship while here on this earth.
Only God can accept worship, therefore Jesus is God and God is a Trinity in form. (Angels don't receive worship):

Matt 2:11
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Matt 8:2
And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Matt 9:18
While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Matt 14:33
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Matt 15:25
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Matt 28:
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Mtt 28:17
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

Mark 5:6
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

Heb 1:6
And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

HOWEVER - Angels will NOT accept worship:

Rev 19:10
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Rev 22:8-9
And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

We see clearly that Jesus of Nazerath is indeed Almighty God. Worship Him? Yes! Of course.

Watch now, OP - This devilish imposter will attempt even more blasphemy of the Lord Jesus and thus heap firey coals upon his head for the Last Day.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
A question: if Noah were the last of his kind, pure in lineage, why not bring him to heaven early and toast the earth, start completely over with a new setting and no defilement of humans by angels?

I've heard the idea that it's to bring glory to God, but I have such a hard time reconciling some things. Because I have experienced God, I believe and follow him, and I am seeking to understand better the things I don't. So many children over the years have suffered unimaginable horrors, I can not see how any amount of glory to God by adults could counter that weight.

Just seems like continuing when Noah was the only one left was the least optimal choice.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77479415

You feel the deep need for justice and righteousness.

'Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.'

We all do Brother or Sister.

The Good News is- You will be satisfied in your hunger.
We all will. By the Lord God Himself.

No one is getting away with anything.
That would be a mockery of God's Justice, and we know that God is not mocked.

In this most extreme case (there are so, so many) we should believe in God's Justice and Trust Him by Faith to ensure all is made right.

In the end, God's Glory will blot out all that evil and make all things new again.

Trust Him, Brother or Sister

Are you an idiot, illiterate, or just intentionally ignoring Genesis 1, which is the subject?

Genesis 1 = God's creation

Genesis 2 and everything thereafter = the LORD God's creation A.K.A. Satan's creation

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77853717

Take note that the God of Genesis 1 actually rests in Genesis 2:1-3.

That is an intentional lie.

Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are two different creation accounts (compare them yourself).

Therefore, Genesis 2:1-3 should correctly be Genesis 1:32-34.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
Thank you, OP for this thread. The reading took me a liitle longer than i anticipated, but worth ev'ry second....

i had a DVD of Alexander Scourby narrating the entire Bible, but i've misplaced it, so i ordered another. i'll be listening to these assigned chapters, and reading along as he narrates.

What i found fascinating (amongst so many things in this reading) is how very ancient the Euphrates River is, as well as Ethiopia.

Another fascinating tidbit is that serpents had "legs" before they were cursed by God because of Satan being used of one to approach Eve.

Thank you again.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77479415

Good question. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes having to do with God's battle with evil in the unseen realm. We are given a peek into this realm in Job:

3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. 4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

Job 2 King James Bible

Satan is arguing that all men will follow him given the right circumstances, no exception. Job proved him wrong before the entire universe, seen and unseen. When we love God and believe, trust and obey him, we do the same thing, and the entire universe is watching. That is also essentially what Noah did. We do not see angels repenting and being saved because their rebellion was not in ignorance but with full knowledge.

We see in the Scriptures God often using exceptional circumstances to save the messianic line from extermination. Once Abraham comes on the scene, the war shifts to exterminating his line from exterminating all of mankind's line. Satan during Noah's time only knew that the Messiah would come from mankind, but not which race or family. So to defeat God's plan of redemption and make him a liar, Satan had to kill every genetically pure human being who could possibly bring forth the Messiah:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Genesis 3 King James Bible

Therefore, Genesis 2:1-3 should correctly be Genesis 1:32-34.

That verse results in an auto-ban, so look it up yourself.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
This thread is here to discuss the reading assignment for each day.

Today's reading is:

Did anyone read it?

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
So then...WHERE does Jesus SAY this phrase...???

..."I am God" ?????
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

John 8:58

BTW - Jesus received the worship of men.
Only God can receive worship.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

Don't make me laugh.

John 8:58 says "I exist"

It does NOT say "I am God".

Thread: John 8:58 John 8:24 - "I am" means "I EXIST" from the Greek - KJV Bible Study

John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

Answer me, heretic:

Why did the Lord Jesus receive the worship of men and angels?

Only God is worshipped.

Answer heretic.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
Thanks for the thread OP

Have some questions. So God is mad at Cain’s gifts, but please with Abel. As Cain tilled the land he brought the gifts he could. So how is it his fault and why is God mad at him. Obviously, deeper message here but I am not understanding it.

If God only kept a the good seed (Noah and al). And wiped out all the evil, how did the post flood world so quickly become evil.?

Are you an idiot, illiterate, or just intentionally ignoring Genesis 1, which is the subject?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77853717

Genesis 1 = God's creation

Genesis 2 and everything thereafter = the LORD God's creation A.K.A. Satan's creation

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77853717

Take note that the God of Genesis 1 actually rests in Genesis 2:1-3.

That is an intentional lie.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
1. Jesus prays to the Father.
...Father God doesn't pray to anyone.

2. Jesus gives thanks to the Father.
...The Father doens't give thanks to anyone.

3. Jesus states that He learned from the Father.
...Father God NEVER had to learn.

4. Jesus states that the Father TOLD Him what to say.
...NO ONE tells the Father what to say.

5. Jesus states that the Father is GREATER than He is.
...NO ONE is greater than Father God.

6. Jesus states that "only the Father is good".

7. Jesus states that only the Father knows WHEN Jesus will return.
...The Father's WILL is what is to be done - by HIS time table.

8. Jesus states that He sits at the Father's right hand - "the right hand of power".
...The Father is the source of all power and authority.

9. Jesus states that the Father SENT Him.
...Father God doesn't get "sent" by anyone.

10. Jesus states that He was WITH the Father before the world was created.

11. Jesus states that He was GIVEN power / authority over heaven and earth.
...Was Father God ever "given" power?
