They are going to stop supplying the original Feb 2020 test and are notifying testing labs to arrange to buy other PCR tests from the FDA list of approved commercial providers.
There are scores and scores of PCR tests approved and available.

What you may have confused is the CDC recommending that labs get a combo tester that will test for SARS and Flu. This doesn't mean that the original couldn't tell the difference. The original doesn't even have primers for the flu so...
