I've been looking for an answer to this. When this derecho hits me is it going to be bad for a long time or is it just the storm front that packs the punch? I'm hearing tornadoes could form, but are tornadoes common in derechos?

I'm expecting power to go off, but if my phone has a signal I'll update.

"We have breaking news live as we are tracking severe weather breaking out across Eastern Minnesota as well as all of Wisconsin Northern Illinois into Western Michigan and Northern Indiana. We are now talking about a very strong derecho that could bring hurricane-force wind gusts that is over 75 to near 85 miles an hour. Also, embedded supercells within the line are capable of producing very large hail and tornadoes. We will be here live for 6 to 8 hours keeping you all updated."

Huh! Just as I was starting to lose faith in my original predictions from earlier this year and last August my predictions are coming true. Nice! Well, if you are in affected area(s) do please seek safety. Remember last August?
