Cicada killer wasps have arrived. Don't confuse them for murder hornets.

They are extremely territorial.
They live alone, because they are so mean, and often make a circular hole in the ground as a burrow.
My sister found that out the hard way a few years ago when she went out to the mailbox, while I was in town for a visit.
I looked out the window and she was running in circles near the curb, and then tore her shirt off and sprinted back to the house.
Another thing to note about them...they can definitely sting you multiple times, and the resulting welts are impressive.
Later that night she sprayed the heck out of the hole and dropped a rock over it.
