He's a tinpot dictator. Many Phillipinos cheered on his 'Drug War' and the shredding of liberty. They believed it was righteous and just to extrajudicially murder and forcibly compel their countrymen to NOT take certain 'bad' drugs.

Now, they're facing an inverse Drug War whereby they will be COMPELLED to take those drugs the state calls 'good' and says they should be taking. And the funniest thing? It wasn't a war ON drugs - drugs are still everywhere in the Phillipines - it was a war by the state to wrest control of the drug trade from the non-state sanctioned traffickers. The state always ends up being the biggest drug dealer of all!

People never learn and I don't think they ever will. The same mentality affects ALL countrys. They cheer on their neighbors' destruction while touting their own 'righteousness.' When it inevitably turns on them, they wonder 'how did THIS happen? But I cooperated! I cheerfully sold out my neighbors!'
