"CDC: Cloth masks 'will not' protect against wildfire smoke"
"Experts say the cloth masks having been and continuing to be worn to protect people from contracting COVID-19, offer no protection against smoke because of the particulate size."

The visible smoke passes right though, compared to the invisible breath/virus that just can't find a way though. /s

Re: Quick Demo of how masks (don't) help
No one claims masks contains the virus, which is why there's still the necessity for social distancing.

It's about viral load. In the moisture from your breath, the spittle from your nose and mouth, there's a higher viral load. The mask prevents that spray from reaching people who aren't up in your face. Low viral load means it's less likely to latch, but higher load means that it's more likely. Think about being in a hospital room with someone who is sick, the room is FILLED with it.

Also, the mask does NOT protect you, only others. So all you folks arguing that it's your freedom to take your life in your own hands, simply do NOT understand how it works.

If everyone had p100 filters on a respirator, and we all wore those, we would all be able to protect ourselves and others. It's not what you breathe out, it's what I breathe in. Filters protect against that. Masks have been useless since the start.

Yup, considering that a sneeze is measured at 25+ feet in front of the cougher and 15 feet behind them….same with coughing but distance is further with the sneeze. So how exactly does six feet make a difference in the social distancing ?

Why do they need to shove a swab into your brain, down your throat or swab your anus if it's carried in the spit?

Yes it does keep people from spitting and sneezing on each other. And some viruses do stick to the fibers. So it does lower the viral load. Some bacteria will stick also. But people should not wear them for long periods of time and children should not wear them. If someone is worried only wear them in a very crowded situation. And change them often. Paper masks can also be washed. They are that durable and are clogging up out landfills because of it. If you wear one wash it. Don’t throw them out right away.
