Simple strategy to solve the problem.

Thousands in "stimulus" money, $600 extra a week in unemployment for weeks followed by $300 extra for more weeks.
Those of us that continued working and paying our bills didn't get any more and we paid.
Hell I live off less than just the $300 a week and never missed a payment on the house I bought 7 years ago or any of my other bills.

How far behind are the landlords in their bills? How much did they have to cutback or sell to keep from going bankrupt? There's a lot of mom and pop landlords out there that have one or a few properties to rent, it ain't all apartment complexes. I think I only ever rented in one complex in my life and I got out of it as quickly as I could. Rented from several individuals over the 40+ years since I left my parents house.

You're feeling sorry for the people that are taking advantage of landlords. Those people wouldn't have had a place to live at all if it weren't for a landlord who invested and risked their money to own the property.
Then the government goes and rigs the game in favor of the deadbeats, the people with no integrity, no honesty, no pride! I was always too proud not to pay my own way. I did without things I wanted to pay for the things I needed, pay the debts I owed, And I expected to collect on the debts owed me too, just like these landlords.

I don't own a single other property but the house I live in.
A house I picked because I could cover the costs working a minimum wage job if it came to that. I put money in the bank since I bought the place working for $16 an hour. MY job evaporated at the beginning of the year and I plan on waiting out the crazy before replacing it, no unemployment checks, just my savings. No I didn't refuse the stimulus checks but at best that was 3 months expenses, 2 months wages when I was working. My car is 23 years old with 335,000 miles on it.

What you got is a bunch of selfish lazy assed people that put their wants before their needs because they got no self respect. They didn't plan for the future, the possibility of hard times cause they thought dumb shits like you would take care of them through the federal government or some organization that's supposed to be there for the real needy, not these gready assed selfish CHILDREN! who are too fucking stupid to take care of themselves. I blame their parents and the prevalence of dumb shits like you for their shitty upbringing.

Sold my home in this high market. Hoping prices will go down to normal levels.

I'm 35 and we buy and sell homes and live in them for a few years. We were hoping to buy something outright so not to have a mortgage anymore.

How it's noti fair to us the prices are so high in florida because:

1) people were freeloading and not getting evicted.
2) lumber prices so high, hard to build at reasonable rate. Thankfully going down now.
3) all these people moving to Florida.

At least problem one and two are going away. We spent the last 10 years and four homes to reach the financial point we are at.

.....ok I am only gonna go into a bit of this because you kind of went off on a tangent there.... first there's the inflation argument if inflation was in check 9 dollars is totally fine, number two if inflation is even not in check if someone was to be responsible and live within their means 9 dollars is more than enough, the amount of money is only adjusted for the individual you say you make 200 and hour or whatever the hell you said, that's prolly just barely if not at all covering all your expenses because you prolly have tv's in every room, computers, new cars so on and so on...do I need all that stuff hell no. Would I like one tv, computer, and a pretty sturdy second hand car, yes I do so I save for each one at a time. There is a reason why immigrants like Indians and pakistans and japanese and chinese do better...

because they stick together asa family...they pool together...buy a house...pay off the house...go get another one and keep doing this until they ALL have a house.

If your making minimum wage you should have roomates so you can save money and help with rent...

If your an idiot...act like an idiot and are irresponsible with the money you work hard to make...its your own fault...

i did without alot of stuff and drove a beater vehicle for many years and never used my credit cards and made sacrifices to buy my first house/place.

Fixed it up and flipped it and did same with 3 propertys...sold in high markets...and then moved where things were cheaper or bought a fixer upper again...

Anybody that hates landlords hates themselves...because they just couldnt get their shit together so they blame the landlord they have to pay rent too...

sucks to be a irresponsible person and be you....your own fault...anybody can own a home if they buckle down and just fucking do it...but you have to go without all the SHIT to get there...

Simple strategy to solve the problem.

Thousands in "stimulus" money, $600 extra a week in unemployment for weeks followed by $300 extra for more weeks.
Those of us that continued working and paying our bills didn't get any more and we paid.
Hell I live off less than just the $300 a week and never missed a payment on the house I bought 7 years ago or any of my other bills.

How far behind are the landlords in their bills? How much did they have to cutback or sell to keep from going bankrupt? There's a lot of mom and pop landlords out there that have one or a few properties to rent, it ain't all apartment complexes. I think I only ever rented in one complex in my life and I got out of it as quickly as I could. Rented from several individuals over the 40+ years since I left my parents house.

You're feeling sorry for the people that are taking advantage of landlords. Those people wouldn't have had a place to live at all if it weren't for a landlord who invested and risked their money to own the property.
Then the government goes and rigs the game in favor of the deadbeats, the people with no integrity, no honesty, no pride! I was always too proud not to pay my own way. I did without things I wanted to pay for the things I needed, pay the debts I owed, And I expected to collect on the debts owed me too, just like these landlords.

landlords are sleezeballs. the rent amount can easily be applied to a mortgage but since most renters live paycheck to paycheck, they dont have the credit to secure a loan...AND LANDLORDS KNOW THIS and take advantage of it.

Wow, the angry stupid. None of what you said applies to most of the owners. Again, most of the landlords are 1-5 property owners, maybe one place is paid off, rest have mortgages, the rent pays the mortgage, no rent, hard to pay the mortgage.

The stimulus money for busines owners isn't the same as for the w2 (i.e. need someone to create a job for me) people. It is/was a loan, and it was/is a trap. The smart stayed away.

With that said, none of us have any sympathy for the angry stupid who have no idea how to build financial stability..

The lender OWNS that property, not you.
whether the tenant pays rent or not, the property STILL doesnt belong to you.

REAL ESTATE PRICES across the board went thru the roof during the pandemic.

the country is shut down yet property values go thru the roof...HOW?
the stock market is up when no one supposedly wants to work..how?

everyone giving out auto loans when no one is working....how?

When a lender checks his notes and finds out you owe 200k on a property and that property has increased in value to 300k..well guess what:

that lender is going to call in that loan...because that lender needs the value on its books rather then on your books.

COUNTRYWIDE and BANK OF AMERICA DO THIS ALL THE TIME.

THE 2008-2012 housing CRASH wasnt about people not affording the loans...it was about bamboozling the person who took out the loan.

SUBPRIME loans , lmfao.

why isnt the jail full of underwriters/appraisers?

if i cant afford a loan for 200k, then how the fuck was I approved in the first place?

I was looking for my retirement property and the realtor told me to wait til next year......the crazy bubble should stabilize.....my investment properties in NYC recovered, 2 vacant apartments and 1 vacant storefront been rented....the storefront went into a bidding war situation too....

Selling it all to relocate and retire.....too old to deal with future uncertainties....
