Quoting: CovidAlpacalips Don’t feel sorry at all! Most of these affected tenants played the system. Sat on their ass, collected free money from the government, and lived rent free. There are plenty of jobs out there, so they can’t claim they couldn’t find a job. Finally, most of the affected don’t have a credit rating to care about, so they will simply just move up the road and rent elsewhere. Who I feel sorry for in the landlords. The government allowed them to be taken advantage of. They were stuck with no income, but still had bills/taxes/mortgage to pay! On top of that, there was no check from the government for them, except maybe the ones who rented section 8, which only pays part of the rent. do you own and operate ANY commercial properties? what do you know about section 8? nothing from your statement. your another back seat driver. Be careful with your bad assumptions! You will just make a fool of yourself. I have owned rental properties in the past, and have rented to section 8. So I do indeed speak from experience. I got out of the business because I moved to a different state for employment. Section 8 only pays part of the rent based on the tenant’s income. Typically, I only received 40 to 50% from the government, which did not cover my costs. When tenants didn’t pay, I was left holding the bag. Moreover, it takes up to 90 days to evict. So you have that missed rent, plus the back rent owed before you start the eviction process. Usually the landlord is out about 6 months rent before they regain procession of the property. |

The landlord is already getting shafted by the government. You are.taking revenge on the wrong sector. And if you are one of the many tards who think all landlords are evil, you will never have wealth. People want to rent my two investment homes, which are beautiful and fairly priced. I may sell them due to this "evil landlord" commie agenda. Then what? Then you rent from Black rock/ feds. Guess how much better that will go? You anti landlord libs are amazingly stupid. Place adverts for houses / rooms for rent - "Tenants wanted... Good paying renters only, need apply." Landlords are fucked either way. Time for them to find an honest way to EARN a living rather than being a rentier bitching about drop-outs who don't want to pay to live in an over-crowded slum in the cheapest rough area of town, where houses might otherwise be affordable, giving dead-beats a incentive to opt-in. This is what happens when economies rely of ever upward bubble real estate and bubble stawk market and zero (negative in real terms) interest rates. The global economic system is in terminal decline, the sign of collapse is perfectly obvious. 20 million more homeless people with nothing more left to lose. "Burn baby burn!" |

Either going personal bankrupt or forced to the property at a very distressed price and maybe much less than what they bought it for. So, like the unemployment benefit extension and bonuses, this is yet another attack on the the entrepreneur class of the American society. This is the class that makes things happen and is core to a free society. Make no mistake - The UE strategy and this moratorium were direct attacks on America at the heart of our country. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80534235 United States 08/01/2021 11:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | THIS! I worked all through the 'pandemic'. I ALWAYS pay ALL of my bills. EARLY. Been looking for a new apartment for 6 months because my upstairs neighbor is both a trust fund baby and has been collecting UE. Fucker starts his day at 8 PM. Gets REALLY loud between 11PM-3AM. It has been a nightmare. I have been on the lookout for apartments but it is a ghost town. Listings are nearly nonexistant (atleast in the crime zones). No one is moving and nothing is opening up. What units are available are super inflated in price. Because there is NO SUPPLY. This should FINALLY FIX some of the imbalances. I'm sorry for the people who legitmately can't pay. But if you haven't noticed residential home prices are up NEARLY 25% YoY due to lack of supply!!!!!!!!! Three guesses as to why there is no supply (cough* forebearance *cough). Same deal with rent. It's time for consequences to matter again. I'm at the end of my rope with all this lock down horseshit, restriction propaganda. It's time for those who do the right thing to be rewarded. I can't wait for the deals on rentals that will be available in the next 60 days. And I can't wait to pick up 2-4 unit Building to start owning rentals when ALL OF THE Foreclosure moratorium (read fraud, contract nullification, bullshit, etc) finally ends and supply rains down in hurricane of back logged inventory. Now if we could just get the Fed, the ESF, and the Comex out of the gold market, I'd almost have nothing to complain about... |

Quoting: Dalek Uno 80683542 He was blocked by the supreme court from doing so. Executive orders from the president have NO AUTHORITY OVER ANYONE, except the US Federal Government, or the Military. THAT should keep everybody on the planet up at night. BTW, the Supreme Court just said that the Congress (which DOES have that authority) had to act, and they did not. |
