Kick out the (millions of) dead-beat non paying, work-shy tenants and then do what?

Place adverts for houses / rooms for rent - "Tenants wanted... Good paying renters only, need apply."

Landlords are fucked either way. Time for them to find an honest way to EARN a living rather than being a rentier bitching about drop-outs who don't want to pay to live in an over-crowded slum in the cheapest rough area of town, where houses might otherwise be affordable, giving dead-beats a incentive to opt-in.

This is what happens when economies rely of ever upward bubble real estate and bubble stawk market and zero (negative in real terms) interest rates.

The global economic system is in terminal decline, the sign of collapse is perfectly obvious. 20 million more homeless people with nothing more left to lose. "Burn baby burn!"

I understand that at times it's been necessary. If you have deadbeats destroying your properties i completely get it.

What if its family's who have paid what could and paid whe the received stimulus. Most of us are barely staying afloat when there is no covid. I'm not sure what should happen.

I know it will be a dangerous job and I wouldn't do it.

As a former landlord of a single 2 unit old house near a college campus I finally realized that this moratorium was another attack on small business owners and individuals.

The family that owned one or two or three houses, units, etc. was likely hurt badly by this. Either going personal bankrupt or forced to the property at a very distressed price and maybe much less than what they bought it for.

So, like the unemployment benefit extension and bonuses, this is yet another attack on the the entrepreneur class of the American society. This is the class that makes things happen and is core to a free society.

Make no mistake - The UE strategy and this moratorium were direct attacks on America at the heart of our country.

because they stick together asa family...they pool together...buy a house...pay off the house...go get another one and keep doing this until they ALL have a house.

If your making minimum wage you should have roomates so you can save money and help with rent...

If your an idiot...act like an idiot and are irresponsible with the money you work hard to make...its your own fault...

i did without alot of stuff and drove a beater vehicle for many years and never used my credit cards and made sacrifices to buy my first house/place.

Fixed it up and flipped it and did same with 3 propertys...sold in high markets...and then moved where things were cheaper or bought a fixer upper again...

Anybody that hates landlords hates themselves...because they just couldnt get their shit together so they blame the landlord they have to pay rent too...

sucks to be a irresponsible person and be you....your own fault...anybody can own a home if they buckle down and just fucking do it...but you have to go without all the SHIT to get there...

Simple strategy to solve the problem.

Thousands in "stimulus" money, $600 extra a week in unemployment for weeks followed by $300 extra for more weeks.
Those of us that continued working and paying our bills didn't get any more and we paid.
Hell I live off less than just the $300 a week and never missed a payment on the house I bought 7 years ago or any of my other bills.

How far behind are the landlords in their bills? How much did they have to cutback or sell to keep from going bankrupt? There's a lot of mom and pop landlords out there that have one or a few properties to rent, it ain't all apartment complexes. I think I only ever rented in one complex in my life and I got out of it as quickly as I could. Rented from several individuals over the 40+ years since I left my parents house.

You're feeling sorry for the people that are taking advantage of landlords. Those people wouldn't have had a place to live at all if it weren't for a landlord who invested and risked their money to own the property.
Then the government goes and rigs the game in favor of the deadbeats, the people with no integrity, no honesty, no pride! I was always too proud not to pay my own way. I did without things I wanted to pay for the things I needed, pay the debts I owed, And I expected to collect on the debts owed me too, just like these landlords.

Wow, the angry stupid. None of what you said applies to most of the owners. Again, most of the landlords are 1-5 property owners, maybe one place is paid off, rest have mortgages, the rent pays the mortgage, no rent, hard to pay the mortgage.

The stimulus money for busines owners isn't the same as for the w2 (i.e. need someone to create a job for me) people. It is/was a loan, and it was/is a trap. The smart stayed away.

everyone giving out auto loans when no one is working....how?

When a lender checks his notes and finds out you owe 200k on a property and that property has increased in value to 300k..well guess what:

that lender is going to call in that loan...because that lender needs the value on its books rather then on your books.

COUNTRYWIDE and BANK OF AMERICA DO THIS ALL THE TIME.

THE 2008-2012 housing CRASH wasnt about people not affording the loans...it was about bamboozling the person who took out the loan.
