The guys I hung around with, a group of brothers in the mix - they shared a Chevy Nova. I bet money on it, they miss that car now. Another model worth thousands of dollars.
The parking lot of my high school was full of cars like that.
All the stuff from an earlier life, we took for granted at the time.
 Quoting: Starbird

My grandmother had a Chevy Nova. She was the stereotypical grandmother who only drove to church on Sundays and the grocery store. It was a 1972 and when she could no longer drive or live alone, in 1992, it still had less than 75,000 miles. She never cared for the original upholstery so it had a plastic cover and numerous fabric ones covering the plastic.

I drove it once, it was an automatic that could easily squeak the tires. Blue and with no rust.

My first car

1969 Oldsmobile vista cruiser rockon

350 with
Rochester Quadra jet

O to 60 in a station wagon......fast
 Quoting: OU8122

DO ya miss it? Ever see on on the road these days?
 Quoting: Starbird

Kind of. Been a long time since I've seen one.

If I remember right, about 10mpg and high test octane only.

Easy to work on and super fun opening it up by tapping the gas pedal for overdrive

My god, some of those cars go for 70 grand these days, did ya know? The Nova which seemed like a kind of funny old used car in the 1980s - those are very hot collectables now.

I recently watched the movie Coma, filmed in 1978. I was noticing all the cars. I miss them. They had character and you could tell them apart.

Had a 1977 Chevelle Malibu almost identical cars.

Around the same time 1997

Bought it from a friend leaving the State paid $500 for it.

The times that were had in it alone worth every cent.

Long gone as well but we've our memories.

Cheers O.P

It was golden.
I bought it in 1997 for a thousand dollars as a "station car" off a Marine who had orders to go some where else.
I watched that car with desire for months, I had no idea I would actually get the chance to make it my own.
Its long gone, but for a little while . . .
These cars are thousands and thousands of dollars now.

Man. That car was a sweet, smooth dream, sliding the corners.
Had that smell - mmmm -
It had a freaking fantastic stereo in it.
I used to drive that thing all over that big base for the pure thrill of it - a diminutive white woman in that big ass car pretending I was one of Charlies Angels.
LOL

I used to play Shaft loud on that sweet sound system.
Man, inside that car - everything was perfect, like time standing still. Pure power and bliss.

Ever have something like this in your life?
Recall it, remember it, soak in it.
Go back to something that made this ride of life all worth it and hold it close. Fuck this current clown world.

I had a '73 Buick LeSabre with a 350 and Rochester Quadrajunk carb on it. Man, what a sweet ride after I replaced the carb with a Holley. $100 and took me about an hour to swap out.

Air conditioner would practically make ice on the louvers. Like driving a cloud. No bumps. quiet. Crazy fast.

Creme color with black vinyl roof. I put a nice Pioneer sound system in it.

Dad's car died on him as he got older, so I handed him the keys to this car in its prime.

Looked like this.

Ya I had a 77 Camaro I rebuilt in Hugh school in 1990ish. Such a bad ass car but honestly I just bought a Porsche Cayenne 2018 and wow simply F’ing wow. If you have the means I highly recommend it. I made my money off selling weed pipes weed things. I now have a huge hiuse and Porsche snd a few other nice things and they said I’d never amount to shit making glass and listening to the Grateful Dead. Felt like flight on the road - so smooth ya flew.
My Dad had a Buick Rivera, when we went up to take me College in the Fall times, he would let me drive. He'd be snoozing as I flew. I remember he would crack open one eye - "watch your speed" - lol. But it was so easy to get those big old engines to fly.

65' F-85 checking in. Canary yellow. 8 track tape deck, Deep Purple, Allman Brothers, Moody Blues, foosball and surfing and 10 cent draft beer. Fun stuff.

Kids coming up today have no idea how different it was back then. Pay phone, calculators, beepers, typewriters, smokes 25 cents a pack, 16 oz Pepsi in returnable bottle 10 cents, whole chickens 19 cents a pound.

No chem trails criss-crossing the sky, gays stayed in the closet. Girls were awesome! Beautiful, great personalities, feminine and not a single tattoo to be found.

I still don't get the tattoo thing. Back then only old navy guys had them like an anchor on their arm. Nobody was covered with them except the freaks at the carnival. I personally think they are just about the stupidest way to blow money.

People showing off some weird ass new tattoo they just got like it makes them cool or something then bitch about having no money to pay the rent.

First car I ever owned was a 1955 Chevy Bel Aire 2 door. Had the big bad ass 265 V8, biggest engine at that time. 2 speed slip and slide power glide trans. Damn I was hot shit cruising Whittier Blvd back in the day.
I still own it. It’s most definitely not stock anymore.
