User ID: 80193276 United States 08/01/2021 04:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It was around 1985 or so. I was young and wanted to see a bunch of cities to see if I had any great desire to move to one of them. Avis had a deal that you could rent a car for a week for $170 with unlimited free mileage. So I rented a 1985 or whatever year it was Cutless Supreme. They were getting smaller but still a really nice comfy car. Well, I drove for 1 week solid, only stopping for food, gas, and the occasional motel room. wasn't really a detailed tour, but I would come to a city, drive the loop around it, stop for lunch or whatever, Read a newspaper. Then on to the next city. When I turned the rental car back in, they checked the mileage and they could not believe how many miles I had put on it. :) Justme |

My "First car" was a 1977 Ford Custom 500.... Not quite as cool as yours but, YES! I remember it well. Kind of a mix between mint and lime green. Made a whirring noise as I drove it. (My friends called it "The Green Missile") LOL. Had a shitty stereo it, I replaced it with one I bought at Grand Auto. (First stereo I ever installed) Circa 1983'sh. Those DEFINITELY were the days. Imagine a life, so simple, you could make a living working in a Car Wash in weather perfect Southern California before it was ruined. I lived in North Carolina as a kid when this movie was out. The African Americans had Fros like that. Crazy mile high. Race relations a lot better back in the day too - Compare the beautiful music they had, to the absolute trash of today. Yes, I am old. I made a living washing cars in Southern California in the early 80's. Detailing, to be more specific. As a young man, it was really fun and I can tell you there were some interesting people working there! We had drunks, druggies, people who lived in motels, college kids passing through, people who took is so seriously like it was a career, old people who worked so slowly I couldn't figure out how they kept their jobs, ect. Jokes and pranks all day long it was like working for a traveling carnival. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? People showing off some weird ass new tattoo they just got like it makes them cool or something then bitch about having no money to pay the rent. Got it in 2000, paid $250. Mine was also a 77, white exterior, red interior. I really liked how that style of car had a headliner that couldn’t fall or sag. It had the rally style wheels. 350 Rocket, took the valve covers off, and there was almost a perfect cast impression of the covers in the hard carbon sludge that covered the rockers. Only had it for about 6 months, I was just a kid. Parents spilt up, I joined the military. It really was in fantastic shape. Nothing beats the front end of that year. Every other year tried to look sporty or streamlined, not the 77. Squared off and sharp. I miss that car |
