My dad, a WWII vet who went to Med school on the GI bill, was charging $9 an office visit when he retired in 1989. He did General Practice in the early 50's which means he delivered babies, did surgery, did housecalls, took ER call every 5 days, etc. There were know answering machines in the 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s which means our phone rang off the hook. He called in many a prescription from those calls which means there was no charge for his services.

I remember nights when he would get a call in the middle of the night and I was unable to go back to sleep until he returned later.

He was greatly loved by many. He was a great man.

There are a few good, caring doctors practicing, but there are more who are in it for the money.

Did you want to know what I think about going to see a PA or NP and being charged $85?

If he charged $9, how did your family survive? Even with another income, the costs would far outweigh his ability for financial goodwill. It's bolded above. The actual end to that 2nd paragraph should be "profit from medicine." But they added a scary conspiracy spin on it being poison to avoid outright saying medicine shouldn't be profited off of.

He said this morning that you should receive your vaccine from a trusted source. How come a trusted source isn't your doctor or hospital but see vee es or some dude distributing it in a parking lot where he can also shove something up your nose? This is all beyond shady.

2 of my buddies who only ever smokes weed and did shrooms decided to try it. They took the powder with OJ, said it tastes awful but was like a good opioid high. When they started to try to quit it, both became highly suicidal.
