Theres a moratorium on evictions. They should just refuse to leave.

If you must accommodate them, set up a tent in the yard.

That way theyll have more motivation to get their own place again.

Just like when they were kids, don't talk in front of them. You are still parents and they still look for you for guidance and moral standing. DO NOT let them move in. Make them pay the landlord. Lend them money, BUT DO NOT let them steal, because that is exactly what they were doing. They did it intentionally, too. Do NOT endorse that behavior, period!!! Did you really raise her that way? If not, obviously, she followed his lead and gave up her charactor to stay with this man. Pull him aside and tell him it won't fly. Or pull her aside. I am just floored your husband caved without her doing the right thing. Maybe let them stay, charge them the same rent they would have been paying and after a year, make them give it to the landlord they stole from. I swear, we need to bring back debtor's prison.

Years ago, children in their early 20's lived with their parents. They married and had children, and the grandparents, with whom they lived, helped care for the babies while the parents worked. There were very few divorces, and babies were lovingly cared for and happy.

I see nothing wrong with having them live with you until they learn to budget their money and feel ready to be out on their own. Why pay a stranger rent when they can give you it to you.....at least part of what they make.

They've probably destroyed their credit rating. I'd let them stay with me a few months but I'd be on their tails constantly about finding a place of their own. They will probably have to rent again, but might find landlords will jack the rent up for them.

I would take my family in. U might be looking at them staying a long time.
I feel for the landlords. They have bills to pay.. and if they don’t pay, the bank forecloses on them.

the difference between good parents and great parents is that a child in this situation would never ruin the reputation of his parents or his family, that would have been drilled in at a young age.

i would goto the landlord drag my daughter and inlaw there apologize and shame them and find a payment plan. if they were working they have NO excuse

Why would they be homeless if have not missed a paycheck but at the same time stopped paying rent?

If that was my children,,,,tell them start paying rent and back rent to the landlord who has been hanging on by a shoe string because of these two dead beats.

you raised a leech. Now, maybe you raised her right and she went the wrong way, but maybe you want to sit like an adult and talk to her adn ask her why she has nice things and she can't pay the rent.

I have a sister who i bailed out before with debts and finally opened a bank account for her, and all her paychecks went there and i had to approve her expenditure. After a few months like that, she wisened up.

My husband is sitting down with them now. He is making them sign contracts and is asking for rent. Believe me we have asked all the questions and have set down the law. I did not raise her like this. She was too afraid to come talk to us because she knew we would not take this well at all. Husband is making them sell one of their cars (the one that is paid off) to help pay the landlord their money. She knows what she did was wrong her husband well that’s a whole different subject. She will be driving his ass to work everyday and he has a friend to bring him home.

She rents mostly to lower income whites, blacks, and mexicans

She has ONE person who filed for the govt help program. The one fat black girl she rents to. Hasnt paid rent in months, everyone else seems yo be going along as normal

Momma needs to teach daughter some lessons again. Do not let her fall like she did and embarrass you and her upbringing without paying for it. She will again be under your roof and you should start with some immediate punishments. Some of the dirtiest very menial chores and tasks seem fitting.

You should also put the hammer on her punk husband. What kind of a man does not pay rent for a year with a 2 income household yet is still broke? My usual idea for why would be some type of drug problems but no matter what it is he is incompetent. And to do it in a time when things are so uncertain makes it even worse.

I would lay it on them hard from the first day they got there to the end. 3 months like a 90 day jail sentence of work release. They go to work and then they come home and work some more and get lectured on their imbecile ways.

Good luck, todays younger folks don't like to be corrected but hopefully you have a chance as you said they looked ashamed. They damn well should be. They are in reality both thieves and criminals no matter that there is no law willing to hold them to account for their crimes.

After a month we will begin sitting down weekly in search of new housing. Once suitable housing ( read livable not what your heart desires)is located with funds to cover moving out you are out the door.

If this isn’t bullshit when is the court date? They have a period after the judge rules to move out depending on the state you reside. What state is this?

My children will always have a place at home. I never want them to move out. My eldest can move into the guest house, when she gets married, we will build her a home on the property or buy a bigger property. When grandchildren start coming along, I will help raise them. I work from home, so that would be no bother to me. Family is extremely important.

A certain lot of people, right around the time the Rothschilds were pushing feminism and women entering the workplace, created the Nuclear Family to suggest that children should all be kicked out at 18, move across the country to chase a McJob paying a $ more, abandon your communities, leave your parents in a banker nursing home run by Somali immigrants at a cost of $30,000/mo. One family home holding 3 generations became a target of banking shaming tactics to encourage 3 houses to be purchased instead. And three houses full of every basic necessity to fill them.
