Just found out Daughter and Son in law did not pay rent for 1 year!!!!! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76793049 United States 08/01/2021 07:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow. Just wow… Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78008456 I’m interested to hear why. I want them to admit why. Then if it was because they bought other things, I’d start taking them away. Idk, that’s so tough. Living in an apartment and not paying rent just because has got to be the most liberal thing I’ve ever seen. Curious, did they vote for Biden? Because they could that’s why. I’d be willing to bet most did just because they allowed it. Just unfucking believable. Too many worthless fucks wanting free shit. |

What a thing to do to the apartment complex. Just because of the covid relief. Had to help my son out like that twice, several years ago. Finally I just said no more. That's it, come visit, but don't ya dare come to live with us again. We did our 18 years. I believe in science NOT religion. Giving me bad karma for that, is anti-religious (you're passing judgement) I am just a man. Of no significance. They just came over and asked if they could move in for a few months so they could save money. I asked why they did not pay their rent for a year? They both work. They could not give me a straight answer. They both looked ashamed and promised they would stay only a few months. Mind you neither one of them lost their job or became unemployed due to covid. I am so pissed off at them. Quoting: Nojab Landlord came to them on Friday and handed them a 30 day notice. They live in a 100 unit apartment complex. Landlord had 67.....30 day notices to hand out. My husband caved and is letting them stay. What would you have done in this situation? Let them be homeless? I just can’t do that to my daughter. I've read more than a few comments and it seems most of you want to throw these people under the bus but before we do that lets take a closer look. In 2016 did you vote for Trump?.... since the day Trump announced he was running for President in 2014 Trump has gone from city to city doing cult rallies and agreeing to pay millions of dollars to these host cties for space to hold the cult rally and police OT for protection but he has not paid a dime to any of these cities. Also Trump when appointee President back in Nov. of 2015 started a Trade war with China which Led to the collapse of the Farm communities which were doing well at the time and the Trump policy kicked in it killed them. Then Trump gives billions and billions of tax payer dollars to the farmers as payback. My point is Trump is the example to the people he leads so when Trump says don't pay rent cause the landlord can't boot you for a year or so and we'll make it law so they cant why would they Pay rent or the millions that did the same thing? These people are doing what Trump told or said they could do and he made it law. Add to that Trump doesn't pay his own bills because he's a freeloading con man. So to the OP of this thread.... Its your family your kid so even though you don't want to help them out sometimes you just gotta do it or at least turn over ever rock that's a option to help them before bailing them out yourself. And to the rest of you...knowing Trump was a con man after 4yrs in office did you vote for him a second time? |

Honestly I am in my twenties and got evicted right as covid hit. My parents would not let me stay with then. My mom did put some cash into my pocket. I have been staying in homeless shelters for the past year working my ass off with money saved ready to move into a apartment when all the options open up. Kind of fucked up they would just put some money in your pocket and say “meh! When I was a kid and the entire economic system ground to a screeching halt due to a pandemic, I did just fine! Pull yourself up by the bootstraps, kiddo! Here’s a crisp new $20 for your troubles.” Like, thanks, mom and dad. |

Make sure they both understand that given the consequences of their stupid-ass choices, they are extremely lucky to not be heading to homeless camp. And don't cave if/when you have to evict them if they don't pay rent. And thought struggles against the results, trying to avoid those unpleasant results while keeping on with that way of thinking. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79313767 Charge them full rent & in 3 months give it back (let them know you're going to give it back). Be strict on collecting that rent from them! In 3 months they will have 1st months-last months-damage deposit. You hand it back to them and tell them GTFO! Let them know from day 1 that they have 3 months. NO MORE! Let them know the entire plan & stick to it. Excellent advice. This. And lay down the rules. No drugs, no drinking, no noise after 10 p.m. etc. You're acting like they're little children and grounding them is going to help them in any way. When my kid got out on his own , he shacked up with this chick , knocked her up, and ended up getting laid off from his oil field job. Of course they showed up at my house, they couldn't pay the rent on their house and the baby was pretty expensive to maintain, as I found out.. I had to make it clear it was my house and if they cramped my style they had to hit the road. I even told the baby that. |

I'd loan em 10 grand no interest, set up legal terms (5 years). They use 80% of savings. They pay off the rent, they hopefully can stay, YOU have saved their credit. YOU can live alone in peace. They struggle and get used to Kraft dinner as their "cushion" security money isn't there and they know parents won't help again. They divorce he still owe half. Did they forgot they have to pay rent or mortgage to live anywhere? Or their rental agreement?Maybe they got all the flu shots and the vaxx to keep their jobs. Maybe they are not the same people they used to be. Are they low IQ? Where did all their money go? Do they spend all their money on junk, clothes and fast food for example? Are they addicted to pharmaceutical or street drugs? Lots of questions to think about here. These people are going to be moving in with you and if they decide they don’t ever want to move out, that’ll be your problem. |
