I googled the lyrics before even listening. "Rolling the bones" is about letting go of your fears, taking a chance, and going for it!

I think the lyrics are talking about the things to be let go of (car, phone, etc) before that chance can even be taken in earnest....but my interpretation is filtered through all of me. I'm all about letting go....ya know, because we just live too much in the past.

Heh, this moment is where it's at....


And while I however know this is brutal to say to youse guyses, I'm going to: Until we get our noses out of the past, let go of all that crap, we're not going to get anywhere good in our future.

Jeebus, the "recycling" of hurt and pain that goes on in this realm is such fuckery.

Let go of the past. Come into love and compassion in the moment....fear, hatred, and anger cannot survive in that moment, eh? Choke it out with kindness.

This moment leads to your next moment....think about it, how do you want your next moments to be? Pissed off, emotionally laid out....wrecked?

Heh, I've always loved ZZTop. I've seen them live five times, one time from backstage. I was on their big containment boxes for their gear right at the side of the stage, alone and dancing, and LOVING IT!....

The road crew guys invited me and friend to the show backstage, because they were so happy with the food and ambience at the restaurant we were working at....I was the cook. They rolled up into the little parking lot of the restaurant in their semi-cabs....harhar, I lived above where I worked, and I'll never forget the rumbling sound of those semis that had me going to look out the window, seeing "Recycler" on the side of the cabs, with big old good ole boys coming out of them....I was all like, "No fucking way! Really?"

I had just gone to the concert the night before at the Cow Palace. ZZTop played five nights in San Francisco, all shows sold out.

Truly, it was a "moment" in my life, and a good one!

Heh, life on the Big Bluesy Marble ain't always so bad....
